Thumbs up My new toy :)

So yesterday I hit target to pick up some things and happened across a little donut baking machine! For 17$. I picked that baby up and brought her home with me

So last night I made 7 grain mini donuts and they were divine! We had them this am with fresh strawberry applesauce and everyone gobbled up breakie!

With the food program going 100% whole grain in Oct. I am starting to find ways to make my fave foods and still save a bunch of money. I think I will be using this little donut baker a lot!

I have one of those! Thanks for reminding me; I'd totally forgotten about it! I think we'll be having donuts for breakfast tomorrow...

2 cups 7 grain flour ( I got mine from Paul's Grains)
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp baking powder
8 tbsp canola or veggie oil
1 tsp vanilla or other flavoring. I used an extra 1/2 tsp of almond extract
1 cup milk

Makes 48 mini donuts

Applesauce:

Put 10 chopped peeled cored apples and 1.5 pint of strawberries in the crockpot on low overnight with 1/2 cup of water or apple juice ans a tsp of apple pie spice

Serve warm and portion out the remainder to freeze for later.

We have that! Love it! We tried waffle batter in it to make small waffle balls, turned out great, and easy to dip in syrup!

Neato - another thing to add to my list of wants when I win a million bucks!

Glad my food program didn't change to 100% whole grain - we'd all starve!
