CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
That is such a huge accomplishment and is my ultimate goal!
I am working towards my bachelors now, a LONG way from the pregnant high school drop out I once was!

CONGRATS!
That is a HUGE accomplishment! It must feel great to have finished and reached that goal!
Crystal 07:35 AM 04-23-2013
Thanks ladies!
I have to say, writing that thesis was the hardest thing I have ever done. I did my internship and research at the college for which I am a mentor teacher and there were a lot of "negative" things that I observed there, in the classroom and the child development center.....so it was hard to write about it in a "neutral" tone so as not to mess up any chances I have of teaching there.
It feels SO good to be done with the writing, but I don't think I am done with school.....I feel like I need more, so I am considering either a secong MA or going for my Doctorate

Its so funny you say that!
My daughter is going to be a history teacher and all her mentors "school teachers" tell her, go for college level.
They feel that the students actually want to be there and do better then the squirrely highschoolers.
Congrats! I bet that is a relief! Relax tonight with a nice glass of wine and a bubble bath!

Congratulations! I know it was hard to do while doing this job, but you are an inspiration to all of us that it can be done if you set your mind to it and work hard.

I was thinking about doing an MA (I have a BA & BEd). Then my husband did his & I saw how much work it is!!! Not sure I could do that right now.
Greatly admire you for successfully tackling that

The title of my thesis is:
Teaching, Mentoring and Constructing Knowledge: Directions Towards Developing Competent, Reflective, Early Childhood Professionals.
I interned in a college ECE practicum class for one semester, coteaching with a professor, and also worked in my program with student teachers that I mentor. We conducted a Participatory Action Reseach project together, finding ways in which faculty and mentor teachers can support students development of the California ECE competencies and NAEYC best practices. In the end, the thesis ended up not being only about how students develop competency as ECE practitioners, but also about my own development as a teacher of adult students, strengthening teaching strategies of faculty, and building classroom communities/relationships amongst faculty, mentor teachers and students.
The college is due to publish my thesis online some time in June. I will post a link here when it is up!
