What is the best brand of disposable diaper?

I know it's a preference thing (and I am clueless since I cloth diaper my little one) but I am looking at huggies snug and dry, luvs, parent's choice, and other store brands. I would love it if they were inexpensive. I only have a few diapered kiddos and am needing to "up" the value of my business without reducing rates and this is how I plan to do so.

The best store brand, IMO, is the Up & Up from Target.

The best name brand is Pampers for daytime. Swaddlers or Cruisers.

The best for overnights, Huggies Overnights.

I have a pee machine of a 2 year old. These are the only diapers I have tried that are capable of keeping him dry. The Target ones don't keep MY kid dry all the time, but all of my DCK's use them, and they never leak for them.

If you're providing diapers, I'd go with the Target ones. They often have great deals where you can stack a Target coupon, cartwheel, and a buy 2, get a $20 giftcard. I stock up when they do that. They sometimes do so with Pampers, too...I recently got big boxes of Pampers at Target for around $15 each after all of the incentives.

For name brand, though, Amazon Mom is the best deal when Target doesn't have a promo, especially if you can find some "open box" deals.

Yes, Target all the way!!!! I use them for my ds and have never had a problem.

One of my dcg's has Pampers and I don't really like them because sometimes they leave fuzzies on her.

Luvs would be my second choice.

Leigh, I'm going to be honest with you here. You are speaking another language to me. Cartwheel? Target coupons? Where are these mystical things and what exactly is a cartwheel?

Can you private message me when you see deals? I need some serious help in life. Hahahaaaaaaa. Seriously, though.

We provide Luvs, from Amazon with a subscribe & save 20% discount, delivered to the door monthly. I can't say for certain that it is cheaper than Target with the coupons and whatnot, but for convenience + price we can't beat it.
And I love Luvs, never have had an issue.

ECS~ You are so funny!

Here is the Cartwheel info http://cartwheel.target.com/

As for Target coupons you can access some via Target mobile app, via Cartwheel and here: http://coupons.target.com/?options

HTH

I also have several parents that use the Up & Up Target brand and so far I think they are the best generic ones out there. I also think they work just as well as any of the premium brand name ones.

Blackcat answered the questions. If I can remember, I will message you next time I see these deals come up!

I hate Up & Up with a passion! They are super thin and super saggy in the leg area. I have tried them on all different body types and cannot get them to fit snuggly around the legs. I always get poop leaking out down the legs and onto the pants. HATE. THEM.

Pampers are my favorite for decent priced diapers. They fit snug around the legs even on the bean kids.

I provide Honest Company diapers. Definitely not cheap but I absolutely love the fit on all my kids.

I cloth diapered, too, but sometimes provided disposables for the DCKs. I chose Seventh Generation for environmental reasons. Size 4 fit almost everyone, and I never had trouble with leaks. I got a good deal on them through Amazon Mom. I use their wipes, too.

C2C and Jenboo, how much do you charge extra for providing diapers? I want to offer this but don't know how much to charge...do you charge per diaper used, per day and it averages out? Also, I assume that includes wipes? (Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread)

I use 7th Gen or Earth's Best when we use disposables but we cloth diaper 98% of the time. I like them for many reasons but the lack of perfume is a big perk, I feel they both hold up very well to heavy wetters but neither has a super sticky tab.

I highly recommend shopping on Diapers.com as you can receive 25% of your total order on your first purchase and 20% off for the next three months. We have switched over to Diapers.com compared to Amazon, Target and Walmart.

You can use this Promo Code: "GRAV1816" and receive 25% off from Diapers.com of your total purchase, not just a single item like most places. Delivery is only a couple days.

I already provide wipes as part of my rates because some parents in the past brought wipes that were useless.

I charge $10 per week for diapers. Parents LOVEEEEEE this option.

On new enrollments, I offer the diaper fee option. I also require they bring me two bottles if it's a weird kind I don't happen to have... as well as two sippy cups if it's a weird kind I don't have.... At least five complete changes of clothes and socks and bibs etc.... And two cans of formula... I put one can up for emergencies and then every Monday they bring one can that's used. If seasons change then we swap out clothes etc.

I do this because I hates the whole diaper bag routine. Each kid gets a drawer with their supplies and I launder myself. I'm into the whole easy button thing Yanno.

On the diaper fee, I assume a child will use say 7 diapers a day max as an infant. Then I calculate x amount per diaper depending on the brand I choose to use. Say the diapers I use are .21 each and that's calculating expensive diapers. That would be 7.35 a week. Now, I use LUVS so obviously I don't spend .21 a diaper. So, in that case I'd make a slight profit. But I do go and buy the diapers also. And it's a convenience for THEM and they all say 100% worth every bit of the fee. I used to charge $5 but parents kept telling me it wasn't enough. And I had a child who reacted to all but one expensive brand and it ended up being more per week for them. So I recently went up to $10 per week. Parents still say it's wayyyyyyy more than worth it on their part not to have to bring them every day.

I too HATE the diaper bag routine. I require parents to bring at least 2 changes of clothes, a coat/hat/gloves to be left here for winter, a package of diapers, a personal sippy cup/bottle, and a can of formula for the week. Everything else I have/provide. Each child gets a drawer here too where all their stuff is stored.

My favorite diapers are Pampers Swaddlers for the little little ones, and Huggies Little Movers for the older babies. I've only had one leak with the huggies, and I think any diaper would have leaked that day as he peed a TON for some reason!

Huggies diapers and Kirkland (Costco) wipes. Pampers smell weird to me lol. Like powder or something. Don't like the feel of them either. LOVE Huggies.

I don't charge extra. It's just an included perk.
I use my food program money for it. I usually get $400 a month from the food program. I spend about $200 on food, $80 on diapers (honest company is expensive) and $10 on wipes (I only use pampers wipes-i hate everything else). I collect the honest wipes that come in my shipments and then sell them on fb when I have around 8 packages for $2 each.

The parents love that I include diapers and wipes and it's boo added cost to anyone. Win. Win.

I provide diapers/wipes/sunscreen/etc. I raised my rates to accommodate this 2+ years ago. I charged 5/more/day/kid for all incoming children until I had almost complete turnover. ONE family is still here at the lower rate, but she's long since potty trained.

I don't change/reduce the rate for toilet trained kids. I make significantly more so yes, the cost evens out.

I am going to stick with whatever diaper that is in the kids correct size. Huge kid + little diaper = . This is true no matter what brand it is.

Yes, I get that the smaller the size, the more you get for your dollar. Once you add in the extra laundry, carpet cleaning, labor and ruined furniture, you have a better picture of my cost.

***Pet peeve alert*** When your kid arrives in a size 5 and you bring me a pack of size 3.... know I am no longer giving you ANY slack on anything from this day forward. You have been marked.... I am on to you. You have shown me who you are. Grrr....

Steps off soap box..... trots off to mop while the kids are asleep.

SO true...I always have to tell parents that it is time to move up a size (or 2) in diapers...they are always surprised. Like their kid's poop doesn't squirt up his back at home in his 2 sizes too small diaper.

I can't agree with ANY diaper in the right size. I do product testing-I am currently testing diapers for my 13 month old. Nearly every one has leaked. I think it would be more effective to diaper him in a paper towel. They are not all equal, for sure!

Thank you so much ladies! Y'all are so helpful.

I mentioned the idea to a mom of a 2.5-year-old little boy who is very clearly on the spectrum, yet is not diagnosed, and she didn't seem like she cared. So bizarre to me because I know they struggle to make ends meet. She said, "Well I'm kinda hoping he potty trains soon." I had to say, "Oh honey. He isn't even close and likely won't be for quite awhile."
