Is it a coincidence that I sent home 3 kids before lunchtime today all for really high fevers, and these 3 kids happen to be the ones who I brought to mcdonalds at the beginning of the week to play at playland?! The one kid who I didn't take is completely healthy. I really feel like they got sick from there... I feel terrible!!! They went home with 103-104 fevers

Oh No! That stinks! But I wouldn't be too worried about who got what and where they got it - that would be like the parents who claim their kids only get sick because they go to day care
Kids get sick and spread it. It's just what they do...

First of all, do they have stomach symptoms? If they ate something and have fevers and stomach symptoms, then it COULD be e-coli or another food-borne illness. Did you eat what they ate? Are you sick?
If that is the case, then there will be a rash of such stuff in your community, and your kids will be the same boat as a bunch of others. McDonald's will have to do spin control.
Either way, don't feel guilty. You took them on a fun outing, and there is no way to know where they got exposed. Could be anywhere, and one kiddo's immune system is just a little tougher than the others.
If that is the case, then there will be a rash of such stuff in your community, and your kids will be the same boat as a bunch of others. McDonald's will have to do spin control.

Seems plausible that they were exposed at McD's, but I doubt it was McD's itself that got them sick

I would say it is likely they picked up a bug at the playplace...those places are germ factories! Not your fault...it happens.

I was going to say the same thing. No big deal. They could have gotten the same thing at the grocery store, a restaurant with their family, etc. etc. etc. I wouldn't worry about whether or not they got it at the play place. If you don't feel comfortable going back in the future, find another fun little place to visit. I would say it is likely they picked up a bug at the playplace...those places are germ factories! Not your fault...it happens.

This exactly....I rarely take my own kids to those play places....and after we're done they either wash their hands or use sanitizer. My daughter got salmonella from the McDonald's back in 2005. She spent a week in the hospital and has spent the last 8 years with various feeding issues and food aversions because she refused to eat for several weeks after the food poisoning. If that was a few days ago and they are just now showing symptoms it's very unlikely that its food poisoning. I have had food poisoning about 4 times (2x from fast food, 1x an undercooked frozen waffle, 1x from old rice) and those symptoms usually happen within a few hours of eating.

One of my ex-roommates (she was over 60 and a smoker) got really sick from eating fast food once. At first we thought it was just food poisoning (High fever, vomiting, diarrhea) but it lasted too long, then she started having pain and bleeding when using the bathroom so we thought it was kidney stones but when she finally went to the doctor they found out it was E. Yep, yep! My son ALWAYS got sick after he played in one of those places.I would say it is likely they picked up a bug at the playplace...those places are germ factories! Not your fault...it happens.

There are many forms of food-related illness.
Food-related illness can produce symptoms (cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, fever) from mild to very serious, with illness occurring from 30 minutes to 2 weeks after eating food containing harmful bacteria.
That's a big window of time....so really it could be anything...including food poisoning.
