Curriculum>Easy Butterfly Craft For Toddlers?
coffee116 05:42 PM 03-16-2011
Hey everyone, does anyone know of an easy butterfly craft for two-year olds? I've looked up alot but they seem too hard for my class, and I need to have one by tomorrow (the morning teacher asked me to find one).
Anyone have one that is simple and fun?
Thank you so much!

you can have them color with markers or paint with watercolors on coffee filters. Then crinkle the middle up with either a pipe cleaner or clothes pin.

fold a white sheet of paper in half (so it's 8x5.5). Put a few globs/dots of paint in the middle along the crease. fold in half. Have the kids press outward on the paint to the edges to make the shape of wings. when you open it up it should look like a butterfly.

That is the easiest and fastest butterfly craft i know.

Ziplock bag.

Fill it with tiny colorful things, like confetti or colored tissue.

Paint a wooden clippy clothespin green, and scrunch the ziplock down the middle, and clip the clothes pin. (the ziplock is the wings, the clothes pin is the body of the butterfly)

I usually put a green pipe cleaner in the top part of the clothespin for antenna, but it's cute without it too.

Pretend the black pipe cleaner is a clothes pin.

Or, just the pipe cleaner works too!

i often paint their hands and use the had prints for the wings. can also trace the hands and then let them color or use dot paunts for decorating it.
