My state inspection ( initial ) is on Thursday. I keep going over the entire house to ensure that everything is in place and ready. But I'm pretty sure that I am just making myself more nervous. Especially since they do things differently than other state I've operated in and completely different from the way that the Army does inspections. They did not even give a pre-inspection check list just a handbook of minimum standards that has 217 pages. Which Ive also obsessed over. Did any one else get nervous about their inspection? Fearful of if you completed everything to the best of your ability?

I've just begun my 21st year doing day care and I still get nervous before scheduled inspections. When I first started out, I read through the regulations carefully and made my own checklist. Now I just refer to that any time I'm due to re-license. Between my own list and the list the state sends out, I'm usually covered pretty well.

Some licensors can be tough and it seems like they won't rest until they find something to write you up on but most are there to help and support you. Good luck on Thursday. I hope your inspection goes well.

Call and ask who the licensing rep is for your area. Get on Facebook and network with the other providers in your area and ask how they like the licensing rep/if they're fair because you have your initial inspection coming up. They'll be honest.

Thank you for the advice it's hard to network with anyone here as most of the people we know are other homeschool moms (who don't work outside of the house) and I haven't met any one here yet just moved here the end of August I'm just mostly worried since some have stated that they don't allow finger locks and I'm not sure about Texas yet I just hope that she is informative and helpful like she's suppose to be and not a nit picker about small things
