Im about to take on a 4 month old (she will be the 4th child in our program). I'm excited but I'm afraid it may be overwhelming when there we already have a 5mo, 15 mo and 27mo. So I was just wondering what are other provider's teacher to child ratio?

I work alone 7am-5pm. My licensed capacity is 1:8. But my dd doesn't count as she is 5 (but not in kinder until next year). So I have 9 on my full days. Ages 5m to 5 years.

1:4 right now (10m, 11m, 2 and 3.5). When baby number 3 gets here it will be 1:5.

I'm in Cali so 6 to 1 Ratio when I have ages 2-5 for my preschool.
Then changed 7 to 1 when my school age come.

Large LIC 14
Small 8 to 1 with the exception that only 3 are under age 2 and two others are enrolled in school age 5 plus.

You are all amazing for taking care of the number of children that you do! I hope to be just as comfortable and confident in doing so with more experience. For now, I won't shy away from hiring help but it is nice to know that it is possible for one person to take on that many children, especially caring for children with a wide age range.

The ratio here is 1:6 no more than 4 under 30mos and no more than 2 under 18mos

I have a 10mos, 14mos, 15mos, 25mos, 30mos and a 3 yr old
one of my parents is trying to conceive, the plan for now is the baby taking over the 3yr old
This is the first time in 10yrs that I don't have 2 infants at the same time.

Very similar here, 12:2 (6:1); no more than 6 under 30 m and 4 under 15 m for a large license. When we have SA we have a third adult, we can have 4 SA, so that would put us at 16:3.

When it's the two of us we have 3m, 6m, 10m, 12m, 17m, 21m, and 3y, 3y, 3y, 4y, 5y, 5y.

We have a point system for each age not ratios and then a maximum point amount for the main provider and then additional for each staff.

By myself right now I have 6 FT and 2 school age (one school age is mine). They are 13m, 2, 2.5, 3.5,3.5, 3.5 and then 9 and 10. June 1st I'll have 10:

3 mo, 16 mo, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 3.5, 4 and then 3 school age 6, 9, 10. I will be over ratio but have been granted a waiver for the chunk of time I will be over while we have a string of birthdays throughout the summer and into Fall.

Are you over ratio ? You have 3 under 18 mos.

I'm in California and with a small FCC, we are allowed to have 3 infants, 3 toddlers and 2 SA. Seems like every state has different regulations : )

Here in TN I can have 4 babies at any time regardless of being licensed or legally licensed exempt... at the moment all mine are PT so I had 7 on the roster (now 6)

I have two 5 month, one 8 month, one 10 month and two drop-in Fosters (when space allows) that are 15 month & 23 month... I had a 22 month old that left to go to big kid school 2 weeks ago.

I am licensed for 14.

Depending on the number of kids in each age group it changes the ratios.

No matter if you have 10, 12 or 14 kids you can never have more than 4 under age 2 and of those 4 no more than 3 can be infants (under 12 months)

I find it interesting how the ratios change from state to state! My ratios are 1:8 if no infants (under two) 1:6 if there are infants, and limited to 2 infants only. I was infant less for two years and just got a new 18 month old! Back to reality! Haha

It is 1:7 here for Family Child Care, no more than 4 under 24 months. Group Child Care consists of 2:12 and still no more than 4 under 24 months. If all children are over 36 months the ratio is 1:12. In Group child Care, a provider may be licensed for 15 but the additional 3 must be school-age.
