I think my brain has turned to mush and my spine into jelly today...

Dcm AND dcd of girl I'm terming for non-payment stopped over today, WHINING about their car, they don't get any help from the state, blah, blah, blah.

I told them MY car is sitting out there right now needing brakes as well, *I* don't get any help from the state and when dcp's don't pay their fees, I don't have money to buy THEIR kids food for the week.

I told them I could NOT keep doing things the way they've been.

AND THEN.... I broke and told them if they pay the full amount of the regular fees they owe TODAY, I would drop the late fees and keep them on.

They told me they could pay me right then if they had a way to the bank and asked if *I* could take them, after already telling them my car had bad brakes.

Well, they agreed they would get to the bank SOMEHOW and be back tonight to pay me.

How much ya'll want to bet I don't hear from them again????

People that always NEED special treatment will always have a problem where they expect "Special"
It is always one thing after another with people like this.

Amen!

I posted earlier about a DCP I had to put my foot down with. I have always said I'm in the business to help others...but I still have to feed my family...people just push you to no limit sometimes. I just can't understand I how they can care less about the next person...but expect you "providers" to put them above all others.

Why Why???

That is 100% true. It's a whole different game to give above and beyond to a family that is respectful of your policies and doesn't "REQUIRE" the special treatment.

I would have given them a deadline (like your closing time). If it is really that important to them they wont take it lightly and they will try to find a way.

I don't have a car and if I really need to be somewhere I find a way. We haven't really had a stable car since my senior year of high school. During my senior year on my busiest days: I walked 30 minutes to school, 20 minutes to my afternoon cosmotolgy class, 30 minutes to my work for a night shift (then have to listen to one of my managers telling me I should eat a salad when I haven't eaten all day and grabbed a snicker bar on my break ) and then walk an hour home at night in a high crime city.
I now live in a small town with a wack bus system; and last semester all my classes were in the next city. I walked 1/2 hour (4 mornings a week) to the nearest bus stop. 2nights a week when we got out early I would either have to hope that someone from my class was going back to my town and I could hitch a ride or have to wait up to an hour in cold weather at 9 pm in the parking lot at the school, which is on the outskirts of town, where there are mountain lions and reported $3xual assalts (NO JOKE) to wait for one of my moms friends to pick me up after her shift.

MORAL OF THE STORY: You do what you got to do to get by. If it's really that important to you, you don't make excuses- you plan accordingly.

Ok...
So at 8:40 pm tonight I got a text from dcp's saying they had not gotten a way to the bank and could they pay in the morning. They live in between two small towns which have ATM'S...maybe a mile or so walk, but doable, and I KNOW they could have found someone to have taken them, or walked if they'd have wanted a provider.

I got news for them...due to unforeseen circumstances (and my good luck) I won't be having ANY kids tomorrow. I'm not closing, but all my families have other plans for tomorrow so...NO KIDS.

This dcg NEVER comes on Tuesdays either, except last week...so if they're expecting to drop off in the morning with the promise tonight of paying in the morning (and then having ANOTHER excuse in the morning that they will pay at pickup)...it's not happening.

I didn't respond to the text, and I won't be here in the morning if they show up for drop off. This family has NEVER responded to any text I've sent them in regards to payments, schdules or anything...just always left me in the dark.

I'm not sitting here waiting for them to show up...I got things I want to do, and it doesn't include arguing with them. They didn't pay as agreed, it's their loss.
