Is it just me or if you're told to LEAVE a location during a fire emergency, shouldn't you LEAVE? Why would a daycare CENTER post "Parents should come pick up children immediately" instead of getting the kids to an alternate location! I am sure it was not easy for the parents to come into a closed zone to pickup children that the providers should have piled up and taken elsewhere and contacted the parents to grab them from a safe, alternate location. I'm just in shock. The evac was called 2 hours before the scroll!

I saw that on some alert today, and I wondered why on earth would you drop your child off that close to a wild fire, and then go on about your day as if the daycare center is going to somehow be immune to the evacuation plans.

If the fire were close to my child's school, he or she wouldn't go to school that day.

I have seen enough disaster movies and zombie tv shows to know that if the danger is near, it might get closer. Roads get blocked traffic snarls, etc.
