Please don't knock me for this.....but this girl's signing voice is going to send me over the edge! She sings constantly in this bravado singing voice. I guess she wants to be an opera singer. I had a girl like this last year....but this girl ix X 100! The kids put their hands over their ears. The playroom is suddenly emptied when she goes in there singing. It is so bad! Her mom is one of those moms who has her daughter on display. Every morning she has "something" for me to see her do or hear. When it's a song I just have to roll my eyes on the inside.
Just had to get that out. Who knows...maybe she will be a famous singing one day and I'll be saying....I saw that talent when she was in my preschool!

I have a dcb who sings. Off key, LOUDLY, without knowing all the words, and is near constant.
"dcb chose a different song."
"dcb sing softly please."
"dcb sing out the window" (open/low to the ground)
"Dcb please stop singing."
that was the progression since 9am.

Ha. I know the feeling, there are just somethings that don't sit well with me.
I have one little boy that says 'like, um' every three words.
Um, like, um, I need to, um, like, i need, um, like, um, can I, like um, can I go, um, like, to the bathroom?
If the singing were causing other kids to leave the room I would point it out to her and have a chat about being responsive to other's feelings

Just tell her to stop it. She doesn't have the right to clog up the airwaves with anything out of her mouth or any noise she creates with her body. It isn't about singing.. it's about taking over the environment by putting out noise.
She needs to play toys and talk in a normal voice to the other kids.

Yep. I never feel bad to put an end to annoying behavior or noises, especially if its bothering other kids.Just tell her to stop it. I have a 4 year old girl who talks continuously about what has/did/might happen to everyone in daycare and ouside of daycare nonstop. I told her the other day that "Ms. _______ had NO ears left so I could listen NO longer" and for her to go play which she did but she told her mom that evening that "Ms. ______ is sooooo silly cause she did have ears cause I seen them on her head". LOLJust tell her to stop it. She doesn't have the right to clog up the airwaves with anything out of her mouth or any noise she creates with her body. I call any unnecessary noises "noise pollution". I don't mind playing noises. I don't mind talking noises. Making noise just for the sake of hearing yourself= noise pollution.
I would tell her to stop. "We are not singing right now. Go play toys."

I laughed when I read the title of the thread. I have one dcg who has a very loud, very nasal signing voice. Her grandparents are very proud of her "talent" and encourage her to sing solo during their church services. They often encourage her to sing her latest song for me when she arrives for day care which can be a little inconvenient when other families are arriving or there are other kids who need attention. (I don't think so though) The biggest problem for me is that she becomes highly insulted when the other kids refuse to stop what they're doing to listen to her sing and will storm off in a huff if they dare to join her in song. She's becoming quite the little diva.

My preschoolers would be covering their ears saying, "Pleasr stop! Please stop!" just as they do when one child repeats himself several times. I tend to encourage them to vocalize when another child is irritating them...and the older ones USE the word irritating instead of just, "You're hurting my ears. Please stop!" Which is the phrasing I give them.

Some parents pick up the kids from daycare all day then plop them in front of the TV and it's an instant anesthesia for the kids so they can get things done.
We have the Tv off all day so when our kids go home , they are in Frozen withdrawal
Maybe tell them they can sing the song one time per day and that's it.

Yep, I've had kids like that too. The first few weeks here, it's easy to identify those who are parked in front of the tv because they constantly look at my off tv and ask when I'm cutting it on... And when I say we don't watch tv here they go Is this the same Frozen song kid?

I have actually had parents complain that their kids are tired when they get home..well, we do 3 hours of preschool,use our brains, ride bikes, run around outside for hours, paint, hop, dance, and act like kids that grew up in the 70's and 80's before 24 hour cartoons on cable, wii,netflix,computers..etc.
When I was a kid, and if we wanted a snack we picked a fruit off our tree because we knew if we asked mom for a snack she might ask us to clean something so we just stayed outside all day with our friends
We used to dig holes to China and thought we discovered oil one time.
We came home dirty, scraped up, thin, healthy and tired
