I had a DCG with diarrhea today. I discovered this once she stood up on my living room rug with it leaking through her pants. *Eek* I totally soaked the spot where she was sitting with Lysol and am letting it dry over night. It’s an ornate rug so I couldn’t actually see any spots. Is this a sufficient way to sanitize the area?

Did you wash it first? I clean spots with soapy water to get the dirt out, then spray with a disinfectant. Otherwise you've just got Lysol'd poop.
