so the interview was well. took about 45 minutes but we really had a nice chat. I felt so bad for the mom because she started crying when she was telling me about the whole situation with the previous provider. But they seemed to like my set up and said that they could already tell that my approach to daycare was much more professional than the old provider.

in a nutshell, they have had numerous issues with the provider. provider has been taking care of kids for so long, she says she knows best and laughs at the parents if they are concerned or worried about something. mom walked in and provider was giving baby chocolate ice cream. the provider was not hiding anything and thought it was funny and okay because "see, the baby likes it". mom said she had already told provider baby was to get nothing but breastmilk. mom says no matter what she tells the provider as far as napping, eating, etc., the provider does whatever she wants and makes the parents feel dumb for having opinions or concerns. it actually sounds like something someone's mom or mother-in-law would do.....do whatever they want with the grandbaby no matter what the parents prefers. mom said that provider does not give any feedback about how baby is doing at daycare, as if it is none of the parents business. I do newsletters, emails, daily sheets, text photos to the parents, do a little chatting at pick up about the day....parents seem to love those options! they were very nice people that had honest concerns without seeming angry or rude or overally dramatic. they said they picked this provider because she seemed very loving but at this point, has way overstepped the boundaries of professionalism and taken over all the decisions about how their daughter is being raised. they dont trust her to respect their preferences. they were also told there would be no strangers in the house and have come over to find friends and relatives there. provider let her grandson (school age?) hold their infant daughter and they were not okay with baby being exposed to strangers and to germs with random people handling her.

so thats it. i think they will go with me and i think they appreciated my paperwork and ready answers and references. they didnt seem concerned about my baby due in november.
