I've been using my computer to play CDs for the kids and I thought it would be a good idea to get a separate CD player so the kids can put in their own audio books and music. I'm not sure if there is anything that would be sturdy enough to handle usage from 3-5 year olds. Maybe a cheap portable CD player?? Does anyone else do this? What do you use?

When my dd was born, I got her a strawberry shortcake cd player for her room to playing soothing music to help her sleep. We now have that one in the daycare and the kids put in cd's by themselves. This one, has lasted much longer than the ones I bought for my kitchen and they cost more

I bought a cheapy one from walmart for around $25. I can't see buying an expensive one from the school catalogs, just to have it broken. They actually do really well with it, and I've had it for 3 years so far. They have old walkmans and discmans too...and they hold up just fine.
