Curious to know: where do you have parents put payment each week? Hand it to you? A special box or mailbox by daycare room? Etc?

My parents either hand it right to me or place it on the counter right inside the entryway.

75% of my clients pay via bank transfers so nothing exchanges hands physically.

I had a payments box right next to the sign in/out sheet. They couldn't miss it.

In my hand. Some of them pay in cash and I don't need discrepancies.

Not in the business yet, but for me it will be in my hand if it's cash, or by bank transfer or credit card.

I have a drop box and envelopes next to it. If cash, they must write the amount, date, and their child's name. If check, they don't need an envelope. Anyone who's payment isn't in the box at noon when kids go down to nap gets a text message and a $10 late fee.

In my hand! I make sure they hand it directly to me so I can verify that the correct amount has been paid and then since I only take cash, I immediately write a receipt for them and hand the receipt to them.

I too am not in the business yet but for my tutoring I require payment by check in advance handed directly to me (for the semester) or bank transfer.

We have a parent board with each kids name on it and their daily report. Parents fill out the report in the morning and we fill out the other side throughout the day. Parents started putting their check on the board after taking off their reports, which actually works great. I'm also ok with it being handed to me

They either pay electronically, hand me cash or a check or for some they stick the check in the child's lunch bag.
I didn't want a box where they could say they placed a payment but really didn't, I am also only dealing with 5 families, would be different maybe if it was 20!

Most parents hand it to me, sometimes its just in their child's diaper bag and I get it right at drop off. I prefer them handing it to me, so we can address any problems with payment immediately, with out any miscommunications.

All but 2 families do direct deposit. Those 2 families had it to me. I thought about a box but it seemed too impersonal to me.

I always busy and a few checks I have even misplace from when they would hand it to me when I'm not paying attention. So I found a really cute wall mountable tin I found at the thrift store for a few dollars. I mounted it right next to the door and labeled it place tuition payments here.

Most banks offer bill pay or e-pay services to pay your bills online via your savings/checking account.

I dont have to give parents anything other than my e-mail address. No account number or anything personal.

are you able to set up a recurring payment or do you need to do it each week? and does your bank charge a fee to bill parents that way?
