I am sending home a letter tomorrow to announce our pregnancy- can you let me know how it sounds, and if you'd add or take out anything? I talk one-on-one with all families (I only have 3) each day, but I'd like to have something "official" to send home as well

Dear Parents,
I am very excited to let you know that we are expecting another baby in February! Although we all know babies are on their own schedule, my past pregnancies have all been routine and basic- my doctor plans to induce around 39 weeks as long as everything goes well. Due to DH's work schedule, my appointments can mostly be arranged so as not to affect the daycare and bring closures, except for the ultrasound we will have around 18-20 weeks (DH will come for that one). I will inform you of that date as soon as I am able to schedule it.
My tentative plan is to take the 2 weeks following the birth off, and reopen after that. I will keep in communication as time gets closer as to how everything is going.

Congratulations!!! Daycare is a great biz to be in when you have a baby. You've certainly given them plenty of notice.

Thanks! This is our 4th baby, but I opened the daycare a month after #3, so it's my first daycare pregnancy. I had 2 interviews/ enrollments since I knew I was pregnant but I decided not to say anything as we hadn't told anyone but family and some close friends. I just hope no one is upset! Starting the 2nd trimester, we're ready to tell everyone.

Good luck! I had only 1 family back in March and I'm pretty sure my pregnancy sent them packing! We had an emergency related to my pregnancy at 10 weeks and decided to tell the family that I was pregnant (we hadn't told anyone yet). The emergency was on an early Wednesday morning. I closed for the day and never saw the kids again!

I was pregnant last year and enrolled, I believe, about 8 or so kids during that time AND PEOPLE KNEW. It will be fine. Sounds like a great letter.

The 2 I told (1 is out of town until tomorrow and I wasn't leaving notice with her mom) were both happy for me. In fact, one told me she is also expecting, due a month later, and the other seemed surprised when I said I'd plan to take 2 weeks... and asked if I was sure?! Said her and DH both have PTO time! Wow, didn't expect that. Now to tell the DCM who has been here since January, yay!!!
