Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>How Much Are Your Late Pay Fees?

I was told today by the family I am 'trying' to term that my 10.00 per day late fees are too much and that they can't afford it (well, stop paying late then!!!)

Was just wondering what everyone else charges???? And at what point do you start charging the late payment fees? I allow parents until noon on Saturday and then every day at noon the fees accumulate another 10.00 until paid.

This is the ONLY family I've had to do this with.

Mine is $5 per day per child, payment is due Monday morning so if they pay Tuesday they already owe $5. I say per child because my families have more than 1 child. I was thinking of raising my rate to $10 which is very reasonable.

I think if it was me I would charge per family because if they don't pay for one child, they aren't paying for another one.

I charge $10 per child per day they pay late. My clients pay on their child's last day of attendance no later than 6pm. If their child's last say of attendance is wednesday then they pay wed. After 6pm they're late.

$10 per day. However, it's due on Friday by 6PM. And I don't do business of ANY kind on the weekends, so they are not allowed to show up over the weekend to pay. They have to wait until Monday and so $30 extra right off the bat.

I used to let them pay over the weekend, but it never worked out and went like this........

No money on Friday.......

"I'll be there early tomorrow to pay you...as soon as I can get to the bank drive-thu". At noon I'd call them and ask where they were.

"Oh...something came up this morning! I'll be there in the next hour or so" At 4PM...I'd call again.

"My uncle showed up! Can I pay you later tonight??" Blah...blah....blah...

So basically, I'd give up my Saturday, waiting around all day and they wouldn't show up anyway. NO MORE! If they can't pay me Friday, they pay on Monday morning before drop-off and it's an extra $30.

Payment is due on or before 7:00am Monday (they pay bi-weekly). If it is not received on or before 7:00am (they pay online through childcarepay.com) then there is a $20.00 late fee AND their child will not be accepted into care that day. This is attached to every single invoice they receive.

My late fee is $10 per day. And I agree, if they can't afford a late fee then they should pay on time! Seems like common sense to me.

Late fees for early drop off and ;ate pick up are $1 per minute with no grace period.

Late fees for paying late are

$10 per day for first occurrence.
$20 per day for second occurrence
$30 per day for third occurrence
Termination for next late payment

Late fees are applied at 5:01 PM on Friday and include ALL calendar days.

I don't waive late fees, let them accrue or discount them.

NO pay = NO stay unless ALL balances are paid IN FULL.

$10/day per family. However, I have flexible payment options. The due date is based on the parent's pay date. If someone is paid twice a month, then they can pay on the 1st and 15th. Teachers are paid monthly in our county so they can pay one month at a time. (All payments are taken in advance of care). The goal is to eliminate as many excuses as possible...

Mine is also $10/calendar day. Payment is due by Friday at 6:00 for the next week's care.
