He doesn't say how much he's willing to pay, but it sounds like a decent offer. You are never allowed to close, ever, you work as long as he/they need you to every day, and they absolutely will not pay in advance? That's a DCP dream, right there. Sign me up.

Isn't this in nannyde's neck of the woods? I thought she said she was in Iowa.

Some of these are downright scary. Like the .63 /hour one. $25 a WEEK?! WHAT?! I charge $185/ week for a child. I can't imagine....

She wants someone to get him to meet the criteria for kindergarten. The red flag is the several loving providers. You don’t leave a loving provider until you find one who meets your prep my boy for kindergarten needs.

Seeking a full time ( generally m-f 8-5) live in nanny for our 4 children 12,7,4, 20 mos. 3 girls and our baby boy Your main duties are caring for the needs of our children. Keeping up with the dishes and messes during the day comes second.
Room and board provided with a weekly stipend of $100.

Yep, I want to watch 4 kids for room and board and $100 a week.

Well, I suppose... maybe... If you have nanny experience, its possible. They supply room and board so you have no rent/mortgage or food expenses. They would supply everything needed to care for the kids.. (toys, educational activities, etc.) If the place is in a heavily populated enough area, and maybe on a bus route, you wouldn't need a car. You could use their washer/dryer, phone, and I'm guessing your "apartment" in their home has a television. It might work. True a hundred bucks a week is low, but aside from clothes for yourself, is there anything else you need that isn't obtainable on their dime? (I am quite sure I am missing something major here, so don't be afraid to tell me I'm nuts for actually agreeing that this could be a viable option for the right person)

I bet the $100 a week is needed for gas sos the person can drive the child to and from preschool.

I had a live in nanny when DH went through cancer treatment. The nanny had free room and board, her own room and bathroom, we supplied her with a TV and computer, I ordered all food that she requested and I drove her when needed. We paid her $800 a week. That was the rate in the area. It does seem high but when I thought about it, we all have a life after work. This woman had a room to go to. Sure she could have had a car and gotten out but most nannies dont. I couldn't imagine giving up my life and basically living in someone elses. That's what she did for the time period I had hired her. I can not imagine what kind of nanny people expect for $100!!!!!!!

And this is for 4 kids, and you need your own car and insurance. So you get paid $25 a week per kid. Oh and don't forget you also need to do dishes and clean up around the house.

Well, health insurance, for one. What if said nanny gets sick?

Also..they want the person to have their OWN car with insurance. That'd cost at least $75 a month or so, just for liability. If there's a car payment involved, the nanny's whole check would pretty much be gone.

"students encouraged to apply". Uh..you're working 8-5, at least (assuming they're never late and then you're outta there for the rest of the evening), and then going to take your classes and do homework around that, in a house full of kids, that for the most part probably don't nap anymore?

Except: taxes, toys, equipment, damages, etc. etc. etc.

It really depends on cost of living, and upkeep, and if you are just babysitting, or have an in home daycare.

Back in TN, I made the utter mistake of only charging a parent I knew from a daycare $60 a week. But that's literally all she could afford. But I watched her 3 children for that. One s.a, one 3yo and one 2yo. But she paid when I took them out and she provided the food for both me and the kids. I was working a real job at the time of being thier non-live-in nanny, so it didnt hurt me financially or anything.

You could just tell her you were really looking for a daycare that served bacon.

...... because that is all your 2 yr old will eat and you do NOT want him to get upset and cry if there is no bacon on the menu.

or tell her your kids eat a gluten free diet and cup cakes and brownies aren't gonna cut it.

No, wait!! Tell her you can only afford $25 a day for both kids.

or tell her your kids eat a gluten free diet and cup cakes and brownies aren't gonna cut it.

No, wait!! Tell her you can only afford $25 a day for both kids.
BC I nearly wet my pants reading this. You are hilarious!

ISO SITTER FOR TWINS--MUST HAVE GOOD HANDLE & FIRM AUTHORITY (duluth)
So here's the deal...
My very good friend has twin 3 year old boys. Now don't let their super cute 1st impressions fool you lol! Before I began working full-time, I used to provide dang near full time care for these boys! They ARE NOT ROTTEN AWFUL KIDS, they just happen to see peoples kindnesses for a weakness and they will quickly decide whether they respect and listen to you. I'd like it to be understood that me and their mom and dad fully know their attitudes and know that sometimes it can be a work in progress. Honestly, if the boys are mad at you the first week or so, it probly means you're doing something right lol. They only intensify bad behavior off getting negative reactions to their acting out. It takes alot of consistency and a firm handle on your personal stress level and childcare abilities, but once they realize that you're not gonna condone it, that there are rewards and consequences to every choice and/or action, they tend to listen better, know what to expect, and are quite cute and pleasant to have around! I love these boys to death and their mom has a full time job in which its a daily struggle, or if I may, and added extra hassle to find a sitter an hour before she has to go to work because yet ANOTHER sitter was caught offgaurd, inexperienced, and refusing to return due to how they behave to new people! I fear that my friend could potentially lose her job due the unreliable childcare for her boys.

I guess I figured I try to help her out in any way I can and began to think about what could be the possible issue that keeps continuously happening. So, I figured I'd put an ad up instead of answering the already posted, and be crystal clear on what would be expected and maybe just maybe we will find someone that is up for the challenge and could be completely prepared for behavioral issues and has been able to organize a plan of attack, so that once they babysit, its not nearly the chaotic and stressful adventures of the sitters before. Listed below are the most common bad behaviors we have been notified of by other sitters, but rarely see ourselves because we DONOT condone it.
*mouthiness* *throwing random objects* *screaming* *spitting* *biting* purely ignoring authority*
*hitting other children* *stealing objects they've been told they can't have* *mean comments(no swearing yet tho)* *personal boundaries* *excessive crying when theyre angry at u*

I know how intense this sounds and how hard if not impossible its going to be to find someone willing to sign on for these boys..Honestly I haven't had these above named issues with these boys since I first met them almost 2 years ago but I firmly believe its because I have NEVER allowed them to be disrespectful to me and am consistent every single time with rewards and consequences.

I am absolutely willing to meet with anyone willing to accept the challenge and answer or even fully educate on the discipline, communication, and follow thru that is desperately needed to ensure that my friend has a reliable childcare provider and can go to work without the added stress and disappointment of wondering if the sitter is gonna last til tomorrow or worrying about the crazy outrageous behaviors they like to display while she's at work.

She does have childcare assistance thru xxxxxx county. We are also very willing to negotiate if there is extra payment necessary. Depending on your experience, we'd love to meet anyone willing to give this a shot. Childcare can be arranged in her home or yours. She has no issues with the responsibilities of food and clothing anytime childcare is needed. Please feel free to contact me thru text at the above number and discuss any concerns, ideas, or set up a time to meet these strong-minded little fellas and see if this is something that you could help a struggling mother with. Please please please only serious inquiries

thank you so much for your time....wish us luck!

Her friend will not lose her job due to unreliable childcare. She may lose her job due to poorly behaved children though. If that is the list of most common behaviour concerns, I'm not sure I want to see the full list of issues.

Not necessarily insane but this the other end of my competition that makes my head spin. I call them the "A types", the total opposite of the baken lady.

My problem with these is if you can't use proper grammar and spell correctly, then hire someone who can to proofread the ad.

At the start of the post she will watch your 4 year old, but by the end, she's only taking infants. And we know how much infants like to do worksheets.

I am trying find the right way to type the following:

I’d rather be a lady of the night.

Yes, there is no right way to type that out. There is no way I’d work for that amount unless I was living in the Philippines.

A playground in her back yard? Does she mean that swing set from 1973 or the wading pool without any type of filtration system that would get my facility closed down for having it?
