We do a lot of crafts/projects. I have a problem though, we have no problem starting crafts but it seems when we need to let it dry, we often don't get back to finishing the projects. Often we start crafts and don't finish them. Does anyone else have this problem? I have a good age range of kids, 2-6 so it seems whenever we start, something pauses the project and then I find the unfinished projects awaiting us at the end of the day. Any suggestions?

If I ever have to dry a project mid-way, I get my oldest DD to control my hair dryer on low setting to dry them. I fill the other kids' time with a mini project in between. These projects that dry in between are very rare though, if it's something that has to be built, and then completed, I build the night before, and the kids complete the next day. Kids get distracted easily so I try to make our projects short, simple, and do-it-yourself style.
Seems like you were asking two different questions though, one about drying, and one about maybe miscellaneous pauses in between projects? If something other than drying is causing you to stop a project, they are probably too long, and just need to be shorter for the kids to complete. Not really sure.

I know what you mean. alot of project require paint or glue to dry to continue, this drives me crazy. I have no idea how to fix it.

We occasionally have to start projects that need to be continued later. We do the first part one day, and the second part the following day. It works out well.

I do what entropy does. Usually the kids won't LET me forget!!!
Plus, I don't have a lot of space, so it drives me nuts until it's done and gone/hung up/ put away. lol

I do like somone else mentioned, if I do a project that has a drying step then we do one part one day and the next part the next day. I just block off art time for both days for the same project. That being said, I don't typically do crafts with young kids so with mostly open ended art they finish in one sitting. I do, however, have a lot of projects that end up staying overnight to dry since parents don't like to take home wet stuff in the car.
