I an legally licensed exempt so my address is not listed anywhere. I give out my approximate location and give my actual address the day of the interview.
I would like to make business cards, but don't want to put my actual address. Would it be weird to put "located 1 mile south of Smith and Wayne Road"?

I don't think it would be weird at all but have you considered instead to say something like
"Located in the Petter School district" or
"Located on the south side of Mytown" ?

I don't have my address listed on my business cards either. Didn't feel the need to put it because of safety reasons and I really don't think it matters. I have families that live and work in different cities that I provide care for.

I draw a "map" on mine. I draw two lines as the nearest cross streets and then a star where i am located.

My flyers just have the village and the subdivision names on them. If I did cards for the daycare I would do the same.
Mine will also just give a general idea of where.

I think in normal communities this would be great - but the location of my community is set up weird. My house has great freeway location which I think is a big selling point as you have to use the freeway to get in/out of my community. Some areas you have to drive a good 20 minutes of residential before hitting the freeway, which would add traveling time to working families. I figured maybe putting cross streets would give me a leg up location wise.

A map is a great idea! I was looking for something to put on the back on the card anyway.

I'm so glad to see that all of you don't list your actual address on your cards/fliers. I thought I would be the odd man out by not wanting to do so - but it is such a big safety concern for me.

before I knew any better, I did put my address out there on stuff. one sunday we are getting ready to go to my sons football game, lots of chaos going on in the home, I had 4 other football players with me at my house. well what do you know, some lady comes to my front door asking if this is the preschool. all she sees is 4 very loud half dressed 14 year old football players running through the house. My son came and got me, said some church friends are at the door.
when I got to the door, the lady look mortified. Of course, I told her we don't operate on sunday's, but I was pretty sure she was never coming back anyways.
lesson learned.

My cards have my email address, phone number, and website. No address.
Crazy8 09:29 AM 10-11-2016
mine has the development name, not my actual address.

Or even "conveniently located to freeway". I know one provider here markets that way.

I do put my address on my card and have never had an issue. I like the idea of a map or approximate location though. Maybe I will do that on my next batch of cards.

my cards have my address as well as my website and Yelp page have it too. I do not see any problem with it.
Putting your address won't usually cause a problem, and for this kind of business it would seem logical. It all depends on the person. Some are more worried about putting out too much, and some even have reasons to worry. It's up to each individual how much they publish.
