A dcp called last night while I was at my granddaughter's high school graduation and asked if she could come early today. Ok, not a problem. It was hard to hear her and I was thinking she said she had to be at work at 6AM. I got up at 5:15AM.

As I sit here, I realized she said she needed to drop off at 6AM.

I lost 45 mins of sleep when I didn't go to sleep until after midnight. It's going to be a long day as all the kids got out of school for the summer yesterday.

Well.... atleast it's Friday!!

Hang in there!

Hopefully the DCG is an easy one so the day goes well.

I've had that happen to me too because I was somewhere I couldn't really hear/understand what the parent was saying so now I just tell them I prefer they text any schedule changes to me so I can read it myself.

I used to hate texting but have come to rely on it for "confirmation" of times and other things I forget to get or put in writing.

When texting first began, I considered it unprofessional and vowed I would NEVER communicate this way! WELLLLLL, look at me now! It is sometimes the only form of communication a person replies back to!

I agree, texting is so much easier for me and you have actual visual proof of the conversation. And honestly, after hours, I wouldn't have answered my phone, I would have let it go to VM so you could save it for later.

But I hope the day goes smoothly and you have enough steam to make it through closing time!!

I love texting with daycare parents. I have no desire to chat with them after hours so I would rather them keep it short via text. It is harder to give someone too many details, excuses or guilt trips over text Plus it is easier to text back NO than say it in person.
