Taking a poll, do you consider "pissed" a bad word rated up there with the "F" word and "S" word?

I keep things respectful around my house and I always believed pissed rated among not nice words like stupid or shut up but not really really bad words as above.

What is your view??

I added the poll for you!

I think it is a bad word and I would never allow my DCK's or my own children to use it. Nor would I say it in front of daycare children or parents as it sounds bad IMHO.

I think it is kind of one of those words that just makes a person not sound so professional...kwim?

I voted yes. I was raised that piss is the bad word for pee as Sh!t is the bad word for poop.

Either way you slice it, I wouldn't want my kids saying it.

I think it's about like stupid and shut up to me but I don't allow my children or dck's to say it. I don't even let them say "crap" even though I've had one that constantly likes to say that one. I just don't think it ranks with the "f" word or some of the other really bad words. That's just my opinion though for what it's worth

I vote yes..... I am not allowed to say this word, kids should not say it either.

I tell my kids I will only use words that I would expect to hear from you and this is one of them....

To me this word has two meanings...In USA it means you are very mad, slang
and in my home country it means that you are very drunk on beer, again slang.

Neither of these I think is the right way to teach a child. If a child is angry it is ok, but teach them kind words to express their anger. AND the other one, well you should never talk to kids about being drunk....lol

it's not acceptable in my house by children, or in front of children. But, it's not a cuss word, just a disrespectful word.

There's only a few words that bother me, but kids shouldn't be saying even the smallest of curse/questionable words.

I never considered it a bad word, but I don't think it sounds very nice either. I don't say it and I don't let my kids or my day care kids say it either. I think it is a matter of opinion. It doesn't offend me if another adult says it and it is not in front of the children.

Coming from a child, yes. Coming from an adult, no.

when I was in 8th grade Cra# was the word all the girls were using... we thought we were cool it was not a cuss word..... until a teacher said I would not hold in my hand what you have in your mouth.

When I was a kid it was definately a cuss word... it is used so often that it is a common word now.. along with Bit##

So what they are all just rude words until you say MF???

Kinda makes you think about what we teach our children and what is to come in the next 10 to 20 years.

I remember as a child, people didn't really say the word pregnant that much. It was a very private/family thing it seemed and not such a public thing.

My son who's a freshmen this year has started the crap thing. I can't get it through his head its just the slang work for "BLEEP" and hes still cussing just in a different way.

I don't use words like that or even cuss so thats why it bothers me soooooo much.

While it certainly isn't the F word or any of the majors I still would not use it in a daycare. You said it is it like stupid or shut up I'm not going to tell a parent if they sya shut up or stupid but I will talk to the child about NOT using those words.

I don't believe the word piss is bad. My grandmother and teachers used to yell at me for saying it when I was young but I let my kids say it. I think it's okay to let your kids say piss when they're just around you but just let them know not to say it around other people because you never know if they might get offended. I think the concept of "adult only words" is quite ridiculous.

Buy, these golden oldies are still being read on the internet. I wonder how this 8 year old thread was searched and found.

Guilty....well sort of

I like searching from years past. I am SO tempted to comment on an old post but I hold off because I don't want to be "THAT MEMBER"

You should. As long as it relates it will become more relevant in search because of a new time stamp. I call it the laszerus effect.

I don’t think it’s a bad word along the lines of the F word or the S word but I don’t use it in front of the children nor do I allow them to use it.

Mid level- not something a child would get in trouble for saying, but I would tell them to use a different term.

I don't consider it more rude than "bad" so I'd tell the child that word isn't OK here so save it for home.

Must be, I got suspended once when i said to a coworker
"these kids will be pissed cause there not playing, I just cleaned"
in context I had said it quietly to my coworker, no kids heard, and I had just cleaned up so we could sit down to dinner.
