How does everyone else keep their dck take home papers organized? Everyday we have something that goes home. Artwork or coloring page or something... I'm getting tired of the mess. I have cubbies that hold their coats and shoes, but no real space for papers since the top of my cubbie houses my sign in sheet, payment box, germx, kleenex, etc....
I was thinking about letter trays, but would need 8-12 and that would be space consuming.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!!

I have (Take home" folders in each child's cubby ( coats and shoes we keep elsewhere)and they go home every Friday (or last day of the week) unless is craft, that goes home the day we made it

Could you tape pocket folders to the side of their cubbies?

That's an interesting idea. I may have to play with this during nap time. I've been just thowing the papers in with their shoes, but with the snow that we get in this area during the winter, that idea won't work for long.
Thanks for the suggestions. Any others?

Where did you get this? I wonder if it would hang off the end of my cubbies...

I got mine from scholastic, but Michaels has them this time of year (and last time I was there they were 50% off, too). Mine hangs on the side of my cubby rack, with those little screw in hooks. It's held up for over 5 years now, it has 10 spots, and I have 11 dcks enrolled at the moment, so sometimes I buddy siblings up.

Thank you VTMom! I was able to tape in a folder in each of their cubbies. They each have their own, still in their cubby space. Looks nice and neat and provides a wonderful solution to my mess. I don't see these lasting a real long time, as I'm sure everyone will want to put their OWN papers in there.
But for the cost of FREE, it's just the solution I was looking for!! Thanks!!

I have one too. They have a ton of colors & prints at Mardel. Each child has a pocket, and all papers & art go in there.

Right now we have a "clothes line" on our porch (enclosed). Every kiddo has a pin and their papers are clipped there.

I do this in the play room. I hang their papers after they create them to show them off, but I take them down so the next ones can go up and then they need to go home. If I had more wall space, I'd do this by the cubbies too. It does look cute and very functional.

Here is another thought. If you are just looking for a place to store papers until the end of the week, go to your local pizza shop and ask for a few new pizza boxes. Chances are, because you are a child care provider, they will give these to you. Label one box for each child. These are great because they stack and they are thin...can slide under a sofa, bed, etc. Just a thought!

I have a yellow one like this but it has a space for tabs for names. I can't remember where I got it, was just trying to find it. I love it though, works really good. We call it the kids "Mailboxes"
I stick them in a file folder and on Friday I take a picture of everyone's work and place them in their cubbies to take home.
I would just wait until Friday and then place it in their little cubby with their coat/shoes.

I don't have much space and only have 5 dck's so I just keep them in a pile by the front door or clip them with their daily sheets, which are on a small bulletin board by the sign in sheet.
