Child A: "Child B ate some playdough!"
Me: "Child B, we don't eat playdough."
Child B: looks at me, eats more playdough.
Me: [glad it's homemade] "Ok Child B, you're done with playdough. No eat playdough." [escort child B from table]
Child C: [also gets up, while bursting into tears] "But I didn't eat any playdough!!!!" [bawling]
Me: [totally mystified...reassure C that C can continue playing playdough
Child C: [full blown screaming fit]
Me: [still mystified]

glad i'm not the only one things like this happen to!! Inevitably anytime I say something prefaced by one child's name, some other child responds/does what I said for the other one to do/points out that they are not performing the action I told the other NOT to do...

Hahaha! Same here... I wonder why it is children think you mean them even when you say the other child's name. Even more fun is when you have to get after one child, they get upset and have a fit, then another child thinks you were talking to them, and they begin a fit too. So then you have two children in full out, on the floor, screaming fit, when there's only one that should be upset.

I think I have the opposite happen. For example, if I were to say "Child A, stop eating the playdough", Child B and Child C would drop whatever they're doing to go eat playdough because they weren't told not to.

I hear you....

I have my whole crew dressed up like mummies, today.

Backwards footed PJ wearing mummies....

IDK why dark, rainy days make toddlers want to streak.

Ha that is just too cute. Yesterday we painted pumpkins and the little 18 month old that I have, thought her red paint was ketchup... Took a HUGE glob and shoved it into her mouth.... I have to say, I really enjoyed brushing her teeth and cleaning her mouth out. Her mom thought it was hilarious, she was a good sport about it.
