Only wear a diaper at home? Fb friends are always posting videos and pictures with their kids only wearing a diaper.

Laziness?

I always have my kids clothed and bathed. And if I post a pic my house must be picked up and clean.

I do look in the background of photos! Lol

Does anyone else?

When my kids were little they were often in just a diaper and it wasn't laziness. I thought they were so cute like that. I have the cutest picture of my youngest in a diaper and cowgirl boots. I love that pic! And my house isn't always picked up for pictures.

I would just assume different personality styles. I'm more of a "whatever" type of person.

Agreed. My kids wear clothes during daycare hours, otherwise a covered bum is all I require. I'll only get to hug their sweet, soft bodies for so long...

My DS is very often naked from the waistdown at home because we're working on early potty training/EC.

once my kids learn to take their clothes off there's not much keeping them on...

and sure, sometimes i'm lucky to get the butt covered before the squirmy toddler rolls away. and I'm too lazy to chase them down. Or they threw a fit about getting dressed again so, "Your body, your choice" because there's nothing more than "adult agenda" saying that clothing is mandatory.

Not to mention that diaper only makes potty training easier....

My 4 year old daughter starts each day with clean clothes and combed fixed hair. Half the time she looks like a hot mess by lunchtime. She changes clothes for dress up and her hair gets messy and tangled. She loves her clothes and already has an opinion about them, but if she had her way, she would wear nothing. If no daycare kiddos are here, she if often just in panties or panties and a tank top (even in winter...in KS). It's not due to me being lazy, she is just more comfortable that way. However, I would not post a picture of her looking that way and she knows if someone comes over she needs to get something on before making an appearance.

This.... but we have hardwoods and my kids are always cold. Even as babies they were in long sleeved onesies and pants until summer and then just a diaper.

If someone comes over, or I am taking a picture, clothes on.

DD is always bathed and in clean clothes, with the exception of daddy days

DH always jokes she'd be running around in a diaper, mix mashed outfit, or the same clothes a few days in a row if he was in charge.

Mine never did but they didnt have that "I want to be naked" feeling. I would have let them though if we were home alone. And I would not post it on the internet.

Me on the other hand..I hate clothes. The only reason I wear them is to not scar my boys.

I always made sure my (now 17months) son was dressed and had his hair done . My older kids (15,9,7) have to look decent &clothed, in nothing stained or raggedy on days any one comes over or I have child care.
My youngest son I did EC and he is transitioning to being pottutrained now in under wear (stays dry, yay!) but because he started pooping his pants after months of going poop in the potty, its easier to have him dressed in a cute t-shirt with baby legs(leg warmers) ,socks, and undies . It helps me get him to the potty faster.
Echomom, I'm so exited to see another person who is into the EC&early potty training thing!

Why is that lazy? It's been normal forever.

That's like someone saying "It's uptight to make kids wear clothes all the time". I think it might be regional though... I have more pictures of my kids and daycare kids in nothing but diapers than I do of them dressed.

I, live in an area where it's too hot to wear clothes. But, even if I didn't, as long as it's warm enough, it's normal, acceptable and pretty darn cute.

I also don't think it's laziness to not dress your child. DS is often left in his footy pjs until bath if they are still clean when he wakes up! We live in a cold wintery region so if he is warm and clean I leave him!! It also cuts down on my laundry! As far as making sure the house if picked up for pictures-that is soooooooooo me too!! I always look in people's backgrounds!! Some of them make me go ! I think it's just different personalities as someone else said. To each his/her own!

Yep, that
It is cold right now, so no. But when it is warm, they all run around half dressed (the older kids live in swimsuits.)

my kids were in just diapers alot when little enough for diapers, my almost 4 yr old daughter now, is always different she changes 50 times a day, I honestly don't even really notice as long as she has panties on! I have to toddler girls right now, who hate pants, one hates a diaper also, but must wear onesies, and they are always in their diapers and a shirt, I do put the pants on periodically through the day, but they come right off, and I don't fight it, as long as the most important areas are covered, I am okay with those little legs. And I would have had no problem posting a pic of my little kid in a diaper, but I wouldn't post a pic of my daughter in her panties, I should rephrase by age, 2 and under, I think diaper pics are cute, I for one am not a fan of the 3 and up diaper crowd, gets a little less cute.

I don't think it's abnormal, but what I don't think is normal is posting the pictures on FB. I have two friends that I can think of who always post pictures of their kids in just diapers. I personally, don't see anything wrong with just wearing a diaper at home - but in public - I don't like to see a diaper. I think it just looks a little vulgar. When little girls wear very short dresses without bloomers and the diaper shows at the bottom. I don't think it's horrible, but it doesn't look great either. Facebook is a public forum, and I just think those pictures are better left unlisted, unless they are of something really special to share and the child just happens to be in a diaper.

Also, I don't know if its just me - but the habitual diaper pic posters that I think of always have children with droopy, saggy, diapers - and maybe that's why it seems a little vulgar to me ?!?

This is exactly what I mean! Every single picture one person in particular posts of her boys they are only in their diaper. The diaper is very saggy and about to fall off their bums. I think that is so gross! I don't think I have ever seen a photo of them fully clothed. And she posts a lot of photos of her boys.

Yes, I get that some times it's cute and there can be precious moments that you want to capture but there is a fine line between cute and gross IMO! To the cowboy boots that sounds absolutely adorable!!

Maybe it's just a personality thing, idk, but it was nice to hear some other people's perspectives on this.

I've seen so many people irked uptight about facebook lately....do some of you not know you can "unfriend" who's causing you so much angst in your life? If someone is driving you that crazy you need to learn to let it go or let them go. It's as simple as that.

99% of people on my facebook are family and friends I've known for 10 years plus (others are those I network with for daycare but regardless, still trust on some level ). I'd tell anyone to take a hike if they were being so judgmental over a picture of my child in a diaper. Facebook is how I keep in touch with those closest to me as after moving I am not nearly as close geographically. I don't friend strangers and everything is set to private. If someone wants to whine about me or my life they are no kind of family or friend and they don't need to be seeing any pictures of my children at all.

As for backgrounds I'm pretty stingy about being clean but I'm also blessed enough to be surrounded by people who would be focused on the happy child in the picture, not the messy background.

This isn't a department store photography outlet, it is my home and I do daycare here. I'm not going to prep everything around a child just to snap a picture of an adorable moment.

Which was evil of me.

I have no one on my list currently who does 100 smutty oompa loompa-ish duck faced selfies a day....used to.....but I just could not control my urge to snark every single time I signed on and decided she wasn't worth the angst, or bad karma all my poking fun of her in my head was likely bringing upon me

Sounds just like me! Lol I totally check out backgrounds in every picture! Especially inside the home.... Weird I know

And my kids have always for the most part had clothes on. I don't even think I would post a picture of them without clothes! I also have a FB friend who's kids are always in a diaper and underware. They are probably 3 and 5 years old . My son is 4 and wouldn't run around in his undies if I begged him to

Above all I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thinks like this

I guess that is what I think is regional. I certainly wouldn't want to see a wet or messy diaper either. But, I don't think diapers themselves are ugly.

Cloth diapers are so cute, you almost never cover those up anyway, because they are like part of the outfit.

My Mom was born in the 30s. Most of her baby pictures were taken outside in a diaper. My aunts and uncles too. My Father who grew up in the same neighborhood has similar pictures, but he was always in a diaper shirt... always a fancy shirt that snapped near the sides. But, no pants.

That does bug me too. Especially at church. Usually if you buy a dress, you get the bloomers too. But, a sun dress is just a free for all... I only care that they have undies or a diaper on under a sun dress.

You're not the only one, I'm the same way, but I have OCD so I'm particular about many other things - including my house being clutter free, and clean at all the times...

Many of my friends do the same, their kids are always in only a diaper- I always have my son out of his pj within an hour after waking up, and completely dressed for the day. And he gets a bath every night.... It has been this way since he was born -

I guess each one has his own way to do things at home - what I can't absolutely stand is dirty babies/toddlers, wearing filty clothes. Yes, I do get it that kids get dirty, but I don't understand why some parents can't wipe them down after a meal, or a snack, instead they let them run around all day with black, yukky, sticky faces and hands (that,I think is laziness..)...and most of the time bring them out in public looking the same way... I think is disgusting...

I don't know why but I LOVED seeing my kids in diapers and would always let my kids roam free at home wearing only a diaper. My 2yo DS is wearing only a diaper right now lol and I'll leave it like that until my first client gets here. There's just something about having a baby or toddler running around in a little diaper that makes me smile. Of course I only do it here at home and wouldn't purposely let either of my kids out the door without wearing clothing (although both of my kids have escaped out the front door and have run around stark naked before, but it wasn't intentional).

As for dresses, I don't think that I ever put a dress on my DD without her wearing a bloomer under it but that was because I thought that seeing a diaper under a dress looked a little tacky but it's not a big deal to me seeing other little girls with dresses on in a diaper and no bloomers, it's just my own personal preference. Much like how I feel about women who wear strappy toe-less/peeptoe shoes with stockings .

Nope.. My kid loves to be naked. My house is heated..not a big deal. He's 2 & just now is starting to like to wear clothess, usually because it means we're going somewhere. Right now, he has a diaper & t-shirt on. I tried some Babylegs, but he wasn't having it. Granted, we use cloth, & it's cuter than a saggy disposable, but, meh.. Especially when it's warm, why bother? Not laziness, just not important to have a kid look meticulous while at home. I have a couple relatives that make cracks every time they see a pic of him or will say stuff like, " Oh look! He has clothes on! Well, it is winter, after all! Hahaha." Whatever. I dish the snark right back. I'm not taking him in the snow in a tshirt & shorts. he's bundled when we leave the house. Inside my heated home, who cares? I have bare feet currently myself.

I'm lol at the thought of laziness. Y'all are uptight, is all!

My kids are always bathed and clean. My older three get dressed before even coming downstairs in the morning. I shower, hair, makeup and dress before coming downstairs for the day. But I don't require my 2yo to wear more than his underwear during the day. He's a baby and in his own house...if he wants to be half dressed then its no skin off my teeth. He's always dressed when guests come over or if we leave the house so I don't sweat it. :-)

meh. My one twin wants to be only in his diaper at home. The other one likes to wear clothes. I let them wear what they want at home. Not a big deal. However, since they're 2, I don't post pictures of them in only a diaper.

I used to let my babies run around in just a diaper or a onesie, especially in triple temp summers. Some of my friends have a "chonie Sunday" where they all stay home in their comfiest clothes and watch movies. Their girls would strip down to their undies immediately after church, so they just went with it. It was cute.

Heck, I just wish I looked cute enough to get away with so little clothing!

At home I usually let my kids run around in just a diaper. Or a diaper and t-shirt. We use cloth diapers and they're so cute! When they were crawling I'd put those babyleg leg warmers on them to protect their knees. My two year old also likes to run around in just underwear. The kids are always bathed and hair combed. If we are going ANYWHERE I make sure they are fully dressed (in clothes, not PJ's) including shoes.

Honestly, if I could I probably wouldn't wear clothes either.

Have you seen the video of the 5 year old who called 911 because her dad was having chest pain? She was really concerned because she was still in her jammies and said she needed to go to her room to get dressed, but she didn't know yet what she would wear. The operator convinced her to stay beside her dad, but she kept mentioning it.

My baby's diaper will be showing a lot because I think cloth diapers are SO STINKING CUTE!!! I have all sorts of cutesy ones.

Sagging, pee soaked disposable diapers? Not too cute.

My two youngest are perpetually in diapers and no clothes. My nearly three year old is attempting to potty train and likes to wear underwear over his cloth diaper. He doesn't want it covered up, so he runs in an underwear/diaper. My youngest hates to get dressed and it's not worth the fight (13 months), so he is always just in a diaper, maybe a diaper and pants, or baby legs. He wears cloth diapers and it's a shame to spend so much on them and cover up the most adorable designs.
