For those of you who use cots for naptime...

Where did you get them?

About how much did they cost?

Are they easily washable?

Do you use a sheet on them? Or do the kids lay directly on the cot?

I am currently using nap mats, but some are getting wore out after many years of use, I'm debating on replacing with cots...

Thanks for the help!!!

I have used the same cots for about 15 years! Purchased them from Discount School Supply. I think it was about $30(roughly) per cot. LOVE them!

I use crib sheets, they fit over them just fine! I have asked parents to donate old crib sheets, so I have plenty of extras.

The kids like them and nap on them just fine. They are easy to clean too

Mine are from Spacemaker I love them they are light weight and sturdy. Mine the legs fold but they do have stacking ones I think www.spacemakercots-rcs.com/ I have to put a sheet on them an old crib sheet works but so do the ones with elastic that fit other cots.

To wash I stand them in the shower or outside with a hose. But unless an accident it is not needed because we use sheets.

Mine lasted 20 years before I needed new covers because I stand them on end. the frame was still good. The friend with stacking ones has never needed new covers.

I have cots. I got some of them at a flea market and some at an auction for a daycare closing. Mine were really cheap because of where I bought them. The flea market ones, I got 5 for $20 (they are a lot like these) The other ones from the austion I got for $5 each like theseEasily washable to me and yes, I use a sheet on them.
And by the way, I love them. I have NEVER liked mats, though

I use them and are great and easy to clean. I purchased mine from a daycare center for $100 for 9 cots nothing wrong with them, they even gave me brand new sheets with them. I was looking at amazon just yesterday because I'm thinking of selling 3 since I don't use all and the price ranged from 30-45 each. I might sell mine on CL for $15 each.

I say they are worth it!

I got mine from discount school supply a long time ago...the dan-d-lion brand. I can't remember the cost. I used an old crib sheet over them. After nap, I would just roll up the pillow/blanket/lovie/paci/sheet into a big ball and put the ball in the child's cubbie. Wipe down with bleach solution & then stored them in the garage until the next day. Saved a lot of hassle with missing lovies/blankets when it is all inside a sheet ball, inside the cubbie...

can I add on a question for those who use them.... where do you store them?? I use folding mats because I can store them right on the shelves under the changing table. I'm going to need new ones soon and thought of cots but no clue where I'd keep them.

mine are in the space between the piano and the wall. they used to be in my art closet. My friend with the stacking ones. tosses a blanket over them and they become a play surface for cars and a room divider that does not tip over.

Does anyone have the toddler sized cots? I have the preschool sized ones. I'm wondering what ages will fit on the smaller ones?

Great question! I do like the convenience of the mats folding up... This is a consideration as well.

I have both and I'd say most 2 year olds would fit on the toddler sized ones. Around 3 is when you'd probably have to go up to the preschool size.

With my old daycare I bought cots but they took up too much space so I switched to mats. Since re-opening, I have gone with mats again because of the small space issue. I like both just fine and have never had anyone compliment or put down either, as far as parents go. It does make sense to me that cots would last longer though. The mats I have now were bought used and I have noticed them starting to get worn out. I'm sure I will have to buy new ones very soon.

Where did you get them? I got mine from a local DC that was closing

About how much did they cost? $5.00 each

Are they easily washable? Not sure. I haven't opened my DC yet.

Do you use a sheet on them? Or do the kids lay directly on the cot? Not sure what I'm going to do. I think I'll decide after reading some other posts.

I store them near our circle time carpet in room number 1. They are on the floor stacked up. The sheets and blankets are laying on top of each cot in the middle. It is super easy!

THANK YOU!

I've been looking for affordable cots and this is the best price I've seen.
