I need to find some comfortable breathable bras. I prefer underwire bras. What do you buy?
Thank you!!!

I love my Victoria's Secret bras. I usually get one of the "Perfect Coverage" line, but I've also got a couple of the demi bras and they're comfy too.

I'd love to be able to support them but they are geared towards skinny or thin women. They stopped making most of size 40's.(even in those there's only a few) I'm not a 42C, currently wearing a Playtex bra.

I can't wear underwire, too painful for me. My dd loves underwire and will only buy her's from Lane Bryant. She buys them when they are on sale.

Only sports bras for me.... I have a port in my left chest.... And regular bras hurt... O course the surgeon who put it in was a man and didn't think about the seat belt or the bra straps lol

I have a port scar (from implantation and removal) and my bra straps can really hurt sometimes. Sometimes the scar itself really hurts too, and it's been over a year since removal. Can I ask what you have a port from ?

My mom hates underwire bras, but loves the "ahhh bra" and "genie bras", which are underwire free. But supposedly they offer a lot of support.
I buy mine at Lane Bryant, I have a super broad back, and lots of fit issues. Last month I went in for a dreaded fitting and dedicated myself to just trying on bras for a few hours. The sales girl was helpful, and after trying on 15 bras I found a size & fit I am comfortable with - and brought 4 new bras.

Where do you buy your bras?
Cradle2crayons 08:27 PM 05-07-2013
Haha... Walmart.... Or target if I get over that way since target is more than an hour from me.... I tend to buy the ones over in the exercise or fitness area of Walmart.. They are very light weight, comfortable, and don't ride.

Yeah, I've got the same problem. (They clipped a nerve when they put mine in.)

I was wondering the same thing. I have a few sports bras but they make me hot!!

I have kind of fallen in love with Victoria's Secret "Incredible" bra ... super comfy.
The most comfortable sports bras I have found as from Target... a lot of coverage and support. I just can't wear them all the time because they're not ... ummm ... padded...

Online from the link I posted. Oprah had it as her favourite bra a few years ago.

Do "underwire" and "comfort" even belong in the same sentence????

I buy wireless t-shirt bras. They are usually the cheapest ones VS sells but they are super comfy!

Well, I am very large in that department. I go to breakoutbras.com. They have a huge variety of sizes and definitely larger band and cup size options.
The nice thing I like is that the site owner has comments about the fit of each bra listed on the page and you can also talk to the customer service to get tips before ordering. They have a lot of variety and a good return policy if a bra does not work for you. I've never been disappointed with an order there. Some are a bit more expensive, but I have found the quality matches.

yup have to agree. I love mine so much.
now my dd has the vs sports bra and she loves it. But she prefers sports bras. I buy them at costco (double pack) or at a sports store for extra support esp when she's dancing

My daughter also wears sports bras. But she wears the ones that have a little bit of cotton padding to cover up her nipples.. Sorry tmi. They have like a spaghetti strap that is adjustable and they go over her head. She's really funny to fit because she has spd andihaveto buy certain socks, bras, panties, etc etc etc lol

Thanks Julie!
I will check it out. I am in same department as you!

My daughter is almost 16. She teases me that in order to flash rockstars I would just need to lift the bottom of my t-shirt past the waistband of my jeans.

genie bras for me are the best for working here, when i go out then I use under wire bra, the best ones I use to find at cacique or Layne Briant.
MrsSteinel'sHouse 10:36 AM 05-08-2013
As a former bra fitter - go to a department store and be fitted! I love underwires because properly fitted they are extremely comfortable. I love Olga and Bali bras. But, it is all in the fit. I can buy a properly fitting bra at Walmart because I know how to fit a bra.

Ohhhhthanks for this thread! Yesterday I was going to call a friend I haven't seen in a while and ask her if she wanted to go for a walk, but by the time the kids left I couldn't stand my bra for another minute! Indeed to check out these links.
Whoever thinks big boobs are awesome is NUTS IMO.

Yay! You ladies convinced me that I need some new bras. I think the ratty ones I've been holding onto are ready to be thrown out... but I DISPISE bra shopping!
I just ordered 6 Genie Bras... they're actually less expensive than the ones I usually buy at Wal-Mart

The ONLY bras I wear are Cacique from Lane Bryant...they keep things up where they are supposed to be and are incredibly comfortable. I bought one of them after a friend recommended it, and then threw away about 3 dozen other bras and went and bought more of these. They put them on a buy-one-get-one sale once a year, too (November, I think?). Best. Bra. Ever. Try several styles-there are some that I do not care for-My favorites are the plunge style.

Yeah, my DH comes into daycare every day and helps me with lunch.
I was reading this thread and laughing out loud when he got here.....
First thing he said "What good is a thread like that without pictures"

I like underwire bras too but I really like the brand barely there. They are very comfy for me.
I do like sports bras but it shows too much "nipping" lol
I usually buy from Target either the Gilligan & O'Malley or another brand. Can't remember what it is and the ones I have have the name wore off them cause they're so old
. I hate bra shopping and jean shopping. Cup size is in between, not an A, not a B. If I buy A, the girls fall out, if I buy B there is too much extra bra bulging
. Jeans same thing. If I buy the size my waist needs, they won't go over my thighs. Buy the size my thighs need and my thighs are what's going to hold them up, cause they'll just fall off my waist
.
Make sure you're getting the correct bra size! I've yet to find an awesome bra that comes in my size (regular or nursing). In fact, I've yet to even find a GOOD bra that comes in my size (31G rounded up to 32 now). It makes me sad.

I couldn't find any 42c's???

During work, I wear the genie bras. I like those but if I'm not working I wear a regular bra with underwire. I have yet to find a good one though. I need to get fitted. I was in denial about my cup size for a long time and trying to stuff my D's into C cups

Once you're bigger than a DD, those are completely out.
I know this from experience. I tried to make it work. It just didn't. LOL!
