Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>IL Providers- What is Excelerate Illinois?

I really haven't followed what the R&R's have been doing for a while. I've started looking at the website for Excelerate Illinois and not really understanding it.

What is it? Anybody doing it? Is it mandatory?

Thanks

It's basically what other states call QRIS or stars programs. I believe it will eventually replace the existing Quality Counts (I think that's the name). It's being rolled out at centers right now, and the last time I checked it would be implemented in FCC in 2016. It involves "circles" of achievement rather than "stars." I believe it will be mandatory to at least enroll.

That's all I've bothered to learn about it so far .

I haven't paid attention either. I saw the website, but just dismissed it entirely.
