It is SO hot in NY today! The kiddos stayed cool with the outdoor water table and sprinkler so I am trying to come up with some more ideas for water play for the long hot summer ahead. We usually do water balloons a few times, but I am stuck on other ideas. What do you do? (P.S. We are not allowed to use kiddie pools here and I personally don't allow gun play so no water guns).

We have an old plastic slide from off a swing set. We lay in down and a kid holds the hose so water will flow down the slide while all other kids take turns sliding down it. It is so much fun! They kind of shoot off the end. They like this better than the sprinklers.

Sponges in a bucket of water, paint brushes.

For sure! I also give them spray bottles (the kind used for plants or hair, a fine mist one) to spray the fence/spray the toys/etc. They aren't allowed to spray each other and do just fine.

We lay a large tarp on the ground, stake the corners, add a sprinkler and the kids use it like a giant slip and slide. Another; we give them buckets filled with soapy water and they give all the "cars" a wash.

We do the large tarp with the hose, and a little tykes slide. My yard isn't big enough to let the water run for very long, but for a short time, this is very fun.
Baby shampoo and the slip n slide is fun on a cloudy day, but again, for short times, because the sunscreen washes off with the soap.
I go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of containers and spray bottles then fill them all with water and let the kids do what they want.
We wash our dolls, our toy cars, doll clothes etc. I have one of those folding clothes hanging dealies and they clothespin their laundry on it.

We use buckets of water, sponges, spray bottles, paint brushes, and chalk. They like to mix the chalk with the water to make paint.
