I will bet you as long as kids have runny noses they will get pink eye. Watch the kids, they wipe their noses and then touch thier eyes, they just do it.

wash stuffed animals, dress up clothes, ANYTHING fabric. Clean EVERYTHING.
Make sure PARENTYS are aware that they need to clean their children's carseats, bedding, etc. at home as well.,,,the pervasiveness of it may stem from HOME.

Make sure you bleach door knobs, light switches, etc.

Good luck!!!

My daughter had what we thought was pink eye last year. Her pedi gave her some drops really just because it was bothering her so much. Normally they don't treat for pink eye here and don't exclude. It's just considered a nuisance and not dangerous.

But annoying it is!!!

Anyway, it didn't get better so we had to go to a specialist. It was something with a long name. Wasn't pink eye at all. The eye doc gave her some ointment but explained this particular thing is contagious and MUCH MUCH more dangerous than pink eye. I was glad we have such a great pedi who got us there.

Anyway, I asked the eye doc about pink eye and she told me how to tell the difference.

I called the school to let them know. Turns out none of the kids had pink eye but had this other thing instead. Is not as contagious as, but still contagious.

The eye doc told me e best thing to do for pink eye is to get a wash cloth with really hot water and one dot of dish soap and wash both eyes separately really good several times a day. She said it would stop the itching and it would make it a lot less contagious.

So the end of last year, a dck came in with pink eye. I told the mom the trick Andre both did it.

NOBODY ELSE GOT IT.
