Would you guys consider it inappropriate to mow your lawn in a sports bra and shorts? It is WICKED hot today and I am dreading going out there in a t shirt.
ABCDaycareMN 01:19 PM 04-10-2013
I used to in a bikini! Lol I wanted a tan while working and when I was done I could jump into my pool to cool off!
Oneluckymom 01:20 PM 04-10-2013
Hmmm, I'm assuming NOT during dc hours? What about a tank top and shorts?
Blackcat31 01:21 PM 04-10-2013
a lawn?
wicked hot?
What are these odd things you speak of????
I don't think my lawn is going to make an appearance until atleast August.
I would mow my lawn in a sports bra and shorts but I live in the country and have no neighbors sooooo.....
Starburst 01:22 PM 04-10-2013
It depends on the sports bra, some are more built like a tank top or a bikini/tankini. Some people jog and go to the gym with a sports bra but no other type of top over it.
TheGoodLife 01:23 PM 04-10-2013
No way- it covers more than many bathing suits and is comfortable! (If people can be out exercising in it, it's good!)
(Side note, there is still frozen hail here from last night's storm- LOL. Crazy Mother Nature)

Wow, yea I've been putting off my lawn for a couple weeks now and it looks like a mini weeded jungle! My back yard is only long in patches and I'm trying to grow new grass so I'll only be tackling the front yard today. It's just starting to look bad and I think it doesn't present well for the day care. I'm definitely talking a legitimate sports bra. Its not a tank or anything. I would probably jog in it but there isn't a DayCare sign on my back when I jog haha. I just didn't know if it would look bad or inappropriate like I wasn't being modest enough or something. Like hey guys check out that babe, we should take our kids there... NOT. haha And it's definitely not during day care hours. But it will be as soon as the last kid goes home!

I have seen some do it and it doesn't bother me...but I personally don't wear a sports bra without a tee on.
I personally wouldn't, but have no problems with anyone that does. When it gets "wicked hot", I usually put on a tank top at night and go to the patio where most people can't see, and I roll it up at the bottom to look like a sports bra-but I don't feel comfy like that in public
. I say, go for it!
Go for it! I'm more bothered by your weather!
can you send some sun our way please? My lawn is a mud pit right now, darn rain!
SilverSabre25 01:51 PM 04-10-2013
our lawn is patchy and weedy and looks like crap. i overseeded it this past weekend so hopefully in a month or so it will look better
Brooksie 01:58 PM 04-10-2013
Looks like I'm going to have to suffer, ladies! My boyfriend/tattoo artist told me I can't expose my new ink for over a week! UHG. That means no shorts either due to the size of the tattoo. This is going to STINK (probably literally with how hot it is
)

I
mowing the lawn. It's the only peace and solitary silence I get sometimes
We have a 3.5 acre yard and I push mow the whole thing.
Yes, we have a rider (a LARGE one) but I prefer to use the push mower. Lots of exercise and somehow oddly satisfying.

Exactly! Its like instant gratification for your hard work. AND its good "me time" with my headphones and thoughts, plus its a killer workout. I love it!

I love mowing the lawn but hubs want the boys doing it-
My 11 year old has just started it, well once and then it has poured for 3 weeks. Our grass wasn't that high all year but now its WAY tall and I'm afraid he will get lost out there when he does go to mow it.
We haven't been able to go outside for the rain and now with as tall as the grass is, I'm afraid of the little ones not being able to run/walk very well till we get it down.

As a teen, early 20's, I used to mow the back yard in just bikini bottoms, no top.
If I was in fairly good shape I would mow the yards in a sports bra and shorts.

I don't know if that will fly here. lol I live on main street on the edge of town. hahaha Although I'm sure a few people might appreciate it.

Our back was fenced in. But I often did the yards in my bikini.
I, personally, wouldn't because the small community I live in GAWKS at me (in fact, they will pull over and WATCH me) simply mowing in whatever. I tend to wear knee length skirts when it's hot out and a shirt that matches, or if I'm feeling especially brave I'll wear shorts (they just make me uncomfortable LOL).
If your neighbors don't pull over and gawk then DO IT!!!
momofboys 03:58 PM 04-10-2013
I think it is ok as long as it's after DC hours. It i hot here, too, about 80 degrees, sort of muggy as we had an afternoon rain shower. But, spring has finally arrived! Or is it summer, lol?
Hunni Bee 05:03 PM 04-10-2013
It was
91 degrees here. On April 10. And I'm preggo. And swollen. They were lucky I didn't go to work in a bra and shorts (I wouldn't have wanted to scar the children though
)
If you feel comfortable doing it and it is not during daycare hours, go for it.
I would NEVER do it. My neighbors would all get sick and move away. I don't even swim at my own house if non family members are present. Pleasantly plump does not look good while jiggling through the yard!

Off topic, but this is why I run at night! People say "aren't you exhausted all day after running a daycare?" Yeah, that's why I do something EASIER with my evenings!
I have 3 kids and a husband at home, so that is my ONLY quiet time, besides 4:30am.
I mow in shorts and one of those tanks with the built in bra. I love them, I buy them in 2 packs at Costco. Also from Oregon, and also wishing for your sun!

Ah if one of my dcp lived next door then yeah I probably wouldn't, I would then feel to awkward.
youretooloud 08:17 PM 04-13-2013
It's hot here too.
If I looked good in a sports bra.... I would be doing everything I could in that.
pandamom 11:01 PM 04-13-2013
meh, I think it's fine. There are plenty of ladies where I'm at that run or jog in just shorts and a sports bra
