That's 83 cents an hour.
Yeah, good luck with that!
Lilbutterflie 05:43 AM 05-09-2012
Yes, I did that calculation, too! What also gets me is that the caregiver must have own transportation AND watch her son at their house! Translation: you must pick my son up here and take him to your house!!! LOL! NO WAY!!

I would reply to that ad and tell her that $.83 an hour is absurd and that anyone who takes her up on that must be on drugs, have a criminal background, or be a pervert.

$150 a month? I would charge her more than that for the entire week, which would not include Saturdays. Wow.
Ditto here too. I charge $160 per week for 50 hours ... there's no way that I'd do a whole month for one week's pay. Even in the states where DC is a lot less expensive it seems way too low for childcare.

I love how "he does his own thing all day." Really? So a 12 month old baby doesn't really need much supervision or something? Last I checked, a 12 month old baby is in the transition between bottle and cup, has just become mobile, needs a lot of supervision and sometimes help eating, needs a nap, and needs a whole lot of supervision with playing.

Of course she is still looking! Duh!!!!
I'd charge at least $120 for the M-F schedule - not sure about Sat- I am not willing to give up my weekends.

that might be easier than finding a sitter for that wage

Do you think maybe she meant to say per week? No one in their right mind expects someone to watch their kid for 150 a month.
