A parent just walked in the door & said they are painting the curb a No Parking Zone down the whole side of my street. I was NEVER notified of it. Some houses have no driveways. My driveway is on the side street & only has enough room for my car. NOW WHAT?!? I've called & left messages. What do I tell the parents or new clients? Anyone?!?

I have the same issue...they have to park further away and walk.....I never had to really say to much. The only parking in front of my house is my driveway...we have no sidewalks and no where to park but down one block.....it's a small block.....

the city is doing this locally as well. I am expanding my driveway (and removing my TOTAL side yard) next summer when they plan to do our street. I would call, complain, get a petition going, ANYTHING to stop that if there was NO parking for clients.

I have left a bunch of voicemails!!! I have a corner lot with no curb on the side of the house. I do have another entrance though a mudroom & kitchen on that side. Maybe they can come in that way, idk. It's fluffed up at the very least. the city is doing this locally as well. Hmmm. That is tricky! Does it really count as parking if they are only there for 2 minutes?

What color are they painting it? Is there parking on the opposite side of the street? That's how my street is, and if necessary parents just park there and walk across the street, but mostly they just block each other into my single lane driveway . Fortunately the "blockers" are normally considerate enough to hurry so the "blockee" doesn't have to wait long.

I was always under the understanding that most traffic colors etc were universal so everyone could understand them.....kwim?
Bummer if it does mean "NO parking" but hopefully it only means no parking UNLESS unloading and loading passengers.....
Would be a great way to discourage lingering parents at drop off and pick up times too...

I have a shared driveway and really only one spot behind my car available. In order to NOT irk the neighbors that use my driveway my parents generally opt to parking the street, even though its a no parking zone. No one has been stopped or fined for it. And yes, they tend to not linger at pick up when they do park in the street. Works for me!
