I got the licensing application. Is it JUST my state, just my new registrar, or what here?

I assumed it was going to be site specific forms needing to be resubmitted. NOPE.

The entire packet.

Back ground check
finger printing-me and dh
references 3 personal, 3 work related
medical statements Me, and every member of my family.
I have to RE DO my entire 'pre licensing course'= 9 hours to the tune of $550.

OMG! I didn't realize that the whole thing needed to be done over. What a PITA!!

Me either! I was thinking site specific forms, layout, shelter in place plan, relocation plan.

Finger print requirement is BS. My fingerprints have not changed.

Nope. I have to go have a physical bc it has to be in the last 12 months before licensing starts.

Didn't they do away with requiring family member physicals? or was that at renewals? I don't remember exactly.

I would contact your state's main DHS offices.

That seems like a lot of government waste for no reason what so ever.

In my state if you move the only thing you have to re-do is the site inspection....because ONLY the actual site of where the daycare is going to be changes.... like you said, your fingerprints, training knowledge and criminal history does not change.

I would definitely go straight to the top with this one.

I am sorry they did not tell you that in advance. It is ridiculous! Especially because most moves mean improved conditions for DCK's.

** That is why I have not moved, yet, either. I will be in my current home for at least 5 more years....

When I moved from one county to the next ( but stayed in the same state) I also had to renew everything for my whole family .

Actually, that all depends.

True.

But I was speaking specifically and I know Diva hasn't robbed any banks or added any felonies to her record as of late...

We moved at the beginning of this year within the same state. They require it ALL to be redone except things like CPR, first aid, etc.

You are not alone!

Southern state here. It's the same!

We attempted to move about 2 years or so ago. I re-submitted EVERYTHING and we were just moving down the street. My actual street. Then, we wound up not moving.

I casually asked my former registrar, in a social, yet "My gosh how much unnecessary paperwork" way. She's right.

EVERYTHING redone. I am submitting waiver forms for fingerprinting and state central registry clearances.

Even repeat TB testing. Oh my.

Good thing is, I keep copies of everythin I submitted, so I literally just copied everything I wrote initially and changed the address. Most of it goes in the mail today. Fingerprinting, new DBA, physicals, etc all scheduled for my next day off. Oh yay me.

I had to repeat fingerprinting even though I had an active foster care license at the time that I applied. I questioned what happened to my old fp and I was told it was destroyed.

I know their is a rule about applying for your new home before moving to speed up the process. If you move than reapply then you are a newbie and need to start from scratch. What I don't remember is if that is for day care or foster care.

Licenses do not transfer here either and if I moved would have to do just as you are. Only thing that goes with me when moving is my education. The rest would be like a newly opened child care home. Yep, a waist of money/time

That's what I am doing. No license gap (or I have to retake the training for new providers) All I will have to do is call and give her dates.

training starts over if there is ANY gap in licensing, so if I moved, then applied to be relicensed, even my education (well, state courses) wouldn't roll over.
