I have an 8 yo dcg who had half a day of school today. The ONLY school aged child I have and only took her because she has a full time sib.

She has coughed non stop since getting here. I kept the little kids up a little later and had them all lie down before naps to unwind, thinking and hoping her cough would settle down. No such luck.

I've tried contacting mom and grandma (only numbers I have) with no luck. I feel she should go home because it's very disruptive to the kids trying to nap and I cringe at every cough just imagining the germs going through the air.

I CANNOT get sick...I don't have time for that, nor the budget to have to close if I were to get sick.

I want to leave the house after hours and turn off the heat and open the windows...how cold should it get inside to be sufficient to freeze out the germs?

Looks like I'm going to be spending my weekend disinfecting EVERYTHING in the house.

sorry to hear that, i had the same problem two weeks ago, 3 out of five kids got a cough and runny noses. i have not gotten sick.
give her a klennex or something to cough into. and have her wash hands more. also if u have tea make her some and add honey not sugar. and no milk.
the house does not need to be so cold to kill off germs i think 40-50 is good.

I have 9 children here on MWF's that have all had a nasty cough and runny noses this week. I have been lysoling, bleaching, vinegaring, and washing EVERYTHING several times each day in addition to washing all of their hands at least 5+ times each day. I wash my own much more often. Thus far, I haven't gotten sick. I can't afford to either.

When we went outside to recess this morning I opened up several windows. It was quite chilly out!
