Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>Whats the Limit of Children in NY State?
knknosmom 09:48 AM 11-08-2012
Hi I am starting to do child care from my home. I live in NY state and am unlicensed. I am trying to figure out how many children I am allowed to care for at one time. I have googled it and didn't come up with anything that answered this question. If anyone could help me figure this out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi! I'm from NY. You can have 2 legally unlicensed, and then the max is 8 (6 under 5 but infants count as 2 and then an additonal 2 school aged children) your own children under 5 count towards ratio. Hope that helps.
