Ok first off, I don't want to be cyber smacked for doing special. I just want to know what you would charge.
So I have a DCK who comes 3 days a week and the parents just told me that they will not be able to pick up anymore. they live around the corner from me about 2 blocks, so I offered to drop off DCK. One of the main reasons I offered this, is becuase most of my kids are gone by 5:15 daily but this one kid who does not get picked up until 6pm and often parents are late. The parents are both lawyers and don't work traditional hours, so I work with them the best that I can. They are a great family and always pay on time. SO I will be getting off earlier most days, but on some days, I may have a kid who stays later. I do have another child who is scheduled until 6 daily, but the parents are always able to pick him up around 515. every once in a while, the kid is here until 6 (closing) SO the DCK that I will be driving and dropping off, may be getting out earlier or sometimes have to stay until 6. The child is here from my open to close hours of operation. My fees cover 9.5 hours of care and this child is here 10.5. So they are already getting an extra fee that they don't mind paying. How would you work this out? How much extra would you charge? Again it could be earlier that I can drop off or it could be the usual time of 6pm....SHould I charge a flat rate additional fee for the drop off service? What about if they have to stay until 6pm?? How would you charge for this?? |

I probably wouldn't, if it gets me out of work earlier.
I have a parent that works 40 miles away, and I am actually out of her way home. Her child is the first one in, last one out most days. If I have a reason to go to town, I always take dcb with me and meet her there. She has less to travel, and I can get an earlier start. |

Who would you be dropping the child off to? Why can't that person walk the 2 blocks to your house to retrieve the child?
I would charge $10 a day for the inconvenience and gas. |

I charge $ 10 a ride to take children to extra curricular activities or wherever if it fits into my schedule.

the parents will still be working out of the town. They have a nanny for their baby twin girls, so I will be dropping the DCK off to the Nanny...

If I really wanted to, I'd charge $5 per day ($15). If I didn't really want to, I'd charge $10.00 per day. But, only because they're so close!

If it's only a couple of blocks I would probably charge $5 a day.

I would charge at least $10 a day, in addition to the fee for the extra hour.
If you are fine with diong special, then do special. But make it worth your while! |

I think 10 dollars is fair. I will for warn you that you will after a while find it to be a pain. I did this too, but it was a headache. Why can't the nanny pick up, even if she has to walk, its only 2 blocks.

I would charge anywhere from $8-$10 per day for this service.
Whichever rate you decide to go with, make it non-refundable and non-changing. By this I mean that whether you are able to drop off the child at 5:15 or 6:00, your rate should remain the same. It will get way too complicated keeping track of the times you drop him off and adjusting the rate accordingly. |

My state requires a lot to transport (although most who do transport are doing it illegally). Since I would have to walk him, I'd charge $10 -$20 per day.
