Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>Group Day Care Home Question ( CT )
ReadytoRoll 06:09 PM 11-20-2012
Hi there,

We are in the process of trying to get licensed in CT to have an in home daycare. Here is the catch. We both work full time so we would be looking to have someone else "run" it.

We tried a family day care license and they said the person who is licensed must not have a job and must be home all the time.

My question is is a group day care home different?

We would obviously want to be the operators, but could we not have a director and head teacher while we still have jobs?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Are you opening this daycare in a residential home in which you live or in a separate facility?

I think different states have different rules about that kind of thing. In some states the actual home owner must reside in the home and be the license holder. I would simply call your state's licensing office and ask them what your state requirement is.

Here is a link to contact your state offices: https://www.daycare.com/connecticut/
