OMG!!! We have had a lot of snow lately and the kids LOVE playing outside. My DH plows a giant snowbank up so the kids can slide or dig tunnels and such. I have a DCG who is 4 and only comes with little knit mittens and or gloves. We get outside (after taking 30 mins to get everyone's stuff on) and she starts bawling everyday because her hands are freezing!!! I've told mom that those knit mittens/gloves are not acceptable outside gear because her daughter can't play in them. DCM says "It's all she will wear so I'm not wasting my money on more." Really?! She's 4. I used to keep a pretty good supply of backups but after doing this for a few years, I seem to have lost most my spares so I don't really do that much any more.....my philosophy in the last few years has been it is the PARENTS responsibility to dress their child appropriately and supply the necessary clothing. I am soooo tired of listening to this one cry outside everyday...the neighbors are probably gonna call DHS!! (DCG is one of those really loud wailers so EVERYBODY within a mile can hear her!)
Just had to vent..........

I'd say buy her a pair of appropriate mittens for Christmas.

I am curious why her mother wouldn't buy a new one for her. Wasting her money on 5 buck, oh please. Parents!
Poor little girl...
