Currently I have 5 daycare kids, all 3 - 3.5 years old. One is moving this summer so I will be down to 4, but then one of the kids has a sibling arriving any day now. I will get that sibling starting part-time in January 2016, followed by full time in June 2016. So I'll have 4 preschoolers and an infant.

I want to get a listening center established. They're beneficial because they promote literacy, listening skills, and the kids can use them independently (that's my hope, anyways). Scholastic has books that you can buy in sets that comes along with a CD which reads the story and indicates when to turn the page. I would mainly use the listening center during quiet time (I know some kids will be phasing naps out here soon) and when I need a moment with the infant to feed/change/put him to sleep.

I am looking at getting a wireless audio player from Lakeshore.

(The reason I want wireless is I will be separating them into their own little pop-up tents during quiet time…don't want to deal with fights regarding cords getting tangled….or if I have to move a kid to the other side of the room, they can still listen in on the story.)

I'll be getting the portable CD player:

And then of course all the audio CD/book sets from Scholastic.

Any other combinations/considerations for setting up a listening center? I'm not really into streaming from the web. I'll be doing this daily and I don't have unlimited internet.

I hadn't thought of a listening center, but it sounds like a great idea. Kind of expensive wireless set up though. I would be worried about the headsets getting broken to much.
