Your family must pay in at least 90% of what you owe each quarter of the year to avoid a penalty. If your husband withholds enough to cover your taxes, then you don't have to file quarterly estimated taxes. If you get a refund or owe less than 10% of your taxes come tax time, then you don't need to file quarterly estimated taxes.
