I noticed something organizing my files and don't know if it's just an odd quirk or if others have seen the same thing. I realized none of the 5 families I have enrolled earn most of their income from the private sector. I've had one family of teachers for years and the rest all work at nonprofits or government. The nearest city to us is the state capital, so that might skew things.

Don't know if it is important or even interesting, but I just was surprised when I realized it. Does anyone else have a similar situation?

All of my families work in the service industry...mostly customer service of some sort. Not a huge amount of income and variable hours, which is why they like my flexible scheduling options.

Most of mine work in either food service or as temporary employees (sadly the only way to work for many around here although some companies will hire after x amount of temp time).

I currently have 3 teachers and 2 healthcare employees. Although in my area teachers and healthcare seem to be the biggest set of employers so I am sure that is why.

I have 2 dcms That are teachers, one dcm is an accountant, 1 dcd is a chef (crazy hours), 1 dcd also an accountant and 1 dcd that works for an Ivy League college. His children receive free tuition if accepted there or half if accepted at another college. I'm jealous of that perk!

I have about half my clients as professors (college town, there are 2 community colleges and 2 four year schools within driving distance)

1 sheriff
1 dentist/wife is his dental assistant
1 nurse practitioner
1 surgeon
1 nuclear radiologist
1 RN/pediatric oncology

The last four medical professionals all work for the hospital (three large hospitals within driving distance)

Those are all my current and incoming clients for fall. The majority of calls are for parents from the local colleges and local hospitals as those are the major employers in the area.

Our four year colleges all have FULL paid tuition for their children. One dcm is the dean and has a HUGE amount of sway in acceptance. My dd is applying there, as they have an awesome pre veterinary department and dcm said she will write her recommendation letter and help with as many grants and financial aid as she can.
