So this is the calendar that I've come up with for the rest of this year (we open June 13) and for next year...

2011 Calendar

June 13 Opening Day!!!

June 18 Grand Opening Celebration!!!

July 4 Independence Day – CLOSED

September 5 Labor Day – CLOSED

November 24, 25 Thanksgiving Day holiday – CLOSED 2 DAYS

December 23 Christmas Eve holiday – CLOSED

December 26 Christmas Day holiday - CLOSED


2012 Calendar

January 2 New Year’s Day holiday – CLOSED

May 28 Memorial Day holiday – CLOSED

July 4 Independence Day – CLOSED

September 3 Labor Day – CLOSED

November 22, 23 Thanksgiving Day holiday – CLOSED 2 DAYS

December 24, 25, 26 Christmas holiday – CLOSED 3 DAYS


Have I forgotten anything?? Are these the days you take as well??

I also take off good friday. And don't forget to give yourself some to be announced vacation time as well or you will burn yourself out in no time. Looks good though.

Looks good. I also close MLK Day & PRes. Day. As the previous poster mentioned, be sure you have something in there that also states you will also take 2 weeks of vacation time off & will give ample notice of such dates.

I take Veteran's Day and MLK Day as well but our schools are closed those days too. If you have kids in school, you may want to check the school calendars for the winter holidays because with Christmas and New Year's being on Sundays, the schedule may be different. For example I really can't take Jan 2nd off because our schools are back open that day and 5 of my 12 parents work for the schools.

So are you taking the Friday before New Year's instead?

February 15, 2011 Presidents Day - OPEN used to close this day for Paid Holiday

April 4-8, 2011 closed for vacation - unpaid
April 22, 2011 Good Friday - Paid Holiday
May 6, 2011 Childcare Provider Appreciation Day - Paid Holiday
May 30, 2011 Memorial Day - Paid Holiday
May 31, 2011 # 4 paid personal day
July 4, 2011 Independence Day - Paid Holiday
August 1-5 2011, closed for vacation - unpaid

I will be closed the day before the first day of school for the 2010/2011 school year for #5 of my 5 paid personal days. This will be around August 10 , 2011. I will give you the exact date as soon as I find out.

I'm actually closed the week between Christmas and New Years so it won't affect me at all. I just wanted to metion it since it may be an issue for other families.
