I just learned the real song and I do not understand it at all. So this is fun for me because I get it. Lol.
Thanks for posting the fun.

I get 9 and I'm thrilled! I decided I'm going to try to do this every year, take the week between Christmas and New Years.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my children brought to me
Twelve sticks from the yard
Eleven repeats of "Goodnight Moon"
Ten bonked noggins
Nine boogers dripping
(Did he just say "bull****"?)
Seven right sneakers
Sixth meltdown of the day
SCREAMING ON THE FLOOR
Four picky eaters
Three kids out of diapers
Two fighting siblings
And I need to jack up my late payment fee

Oh, and I'm not taking any time off because of the lost $ in November and getting delayed on licensing due to the fire. Hopefully we'll be back in before Xmas.

Yeah I really can't afford to be closed but this vacay was planned for months... 4 days in MD and 6 days home alone. I can sleep in, read, deep clean and look forward to getting a new back deck built - wasn't in the plans til next summer, but the community just changed the rules on steps for manufactured homes and we have to have at least small decks by April (going on credit card, no interest plan thru Lowe's)

This comes in doses, I wish it was all at once. Although, then everyone would quit their jobs and do daycare.

In all seriousness, my post was what happened this morning, and pretty much in that order, so I started singing it.

Oh, are we doing just what's happening today? Well, today I'm babysitting just two kids from their house, so here's reality and it doesn't scan.

Twelve times carrying a child up or down a staircase
Eleven times I missed my ranch house
Ten times I thought that weird noise from the neighbor's was coming from this house's yard
Nine times I seriously considered parking the kids in front of Netflix
Eight times they kicked me; shrieks at
Seven times the recommended decibel level
Six dishes in a sink with no water pressure because the parents forgot to switch autodebit to their new credit card
FIVE TIMES I THOUGHT ABOUT NEVER COMING OUT OF THE BATHROOM
Four bowel movements from just one child (how much fiber did they feed you last night?)
Three "totally unexpected" collisions with the same table
Two kids who didn't nap
And an empty propane tank so there's no heat

I get it! I am just a mushy mess because my families have been so great lately.
Had a few years that were :YIKES: though.

1 batch of fresh blueberry muffins
2 toys already put aside
3 kids arguing if santa is real (with the 3 year old *insisting* he's not )
4 times I've had to separate children (the same 2)
5 dcb redirections
6 repeated "can I give these presents to my mom yet?"
7 identical black snowsuits
and 8 headaches

Hahahaha to the identical black snowsuits. Why does every boy wear the same exact one?

So many are way too true!

Not DC related, but my favorite version of the song:
