Hello!! I have a 1yo dcg that has started biting. I have had biters but she bites hard and leaves bruises. She bites the same boy and has 2 days in a row. How would you handle this? Thanks!!

She would be my shadow every.single.second of the day until she has stopped biting. I would not let her out of my sight so she has zero opportunities to bite anyone.

PITA, I know but a necessary evil in child care when it comes to biting.

I found that finding the root cause was the quickest way to curb it. If it's always the same child, it's likely he's the "instigator" in her mind. She is protecting herself in a socially unaccepttable, but very effective way.

Observing is really important here. In the situation here, it was a 1 year old always biting another child. Always on the arm. By observing, I noticed that he pushed his way into her space, across her body, to get what he wanted. Her response...chomp! After that, I watched for the body checking, and the biting quickly disappeared.

It's also good to tell parents what you're doing, so they know you take it seriously and are working it, but that it may happen a few more times before it gets resolved.
