So... Suzy Sunshine is gone today. My DH took the day off for no reason other than to recharge (must be nice to get paid days off!) He deserves it, I'm just a little bitter. DCB (4 yr. old) was sick yesterday with 101 fever, Mom texted me and said he was running on 4 hrs. of sleep and wouldn't be here yesterday, well 7am this morning I hear a ding dong. I have a 24 hour fever free policy, however, magically his fever was totally gone by 6am yesterday and he was "Stuffy, and coughing -- just your typical cold, he's FINE". Uh huh! I asked if he had any medicine this morning, and she said (He hasn't had any motrin since 1am
But, he's not sick...
Then, DCB2 who is an infant comes, and she starts off the conversation of saying the cold he had has manifested into most likely a sinus infection, he's been super fussy and the discharge has a greenish hue
, so he's REALLY fussy and that's just not him. She'll try to get him to the Dr. tomorrow morning, or Monday morning at the latest
. I just kind of stood there dumbfounded as she dropped him off during the chaotic 'getting ready for the bus stop' time. No fever, and maybe he was just fussy because she dropped him off with a huge load in his diaper (they live across the street, no excuse for old poop in diaper)
At least it's Friday!! I need a positive attitude smoothie or something.
Ugh.

I hate when tgey poop in the car on the way here. Dcb had a load in his pants this morning and I handed her the wipes and a diaper w/changing pad and said I smelled a poopy! She knows to change him herself if this happens.
Im feeling anxious for the day to be over because both boys I have are refusing to nap and one is just crying even thoufh all his needs are met and I know he is tired and since my husband got his W-2 I cant wait to get started on our taxes this weekend so we can get it filed so our return $ comes!! And we have a date tomorrow too. Im sad to see a dcb go after next week because she gave notice so im out $ I thought I would have until our tax return $ comes.

(((((hugs))))))) because you sound like you really need some!!
Take a deep breath and try to focus on the positive.
If DCB (4 yrs) gets at all cranky or his temp rises, I would call mom IMMEDIATELY and heave her pick him up. The next time, refuse him (at the door if necessary) when you know he has had any meds within 24 hours of arriving.
If the baby acts cranky....fever or not, send them home.
We, as providers do NOT have to deal with sick cranky kids just because parents bring them. I also make sure ALL my parents understand that sick doesn't always mean a fever, diarrhea and/or vomiting. Sometimes sickness means just not feeling up to par to deal with the normal routines of daycare.
Do NOT feel as if you are required to deal with things parents are obviously perfectly willing to slough off onto you.
I am hoping your day gets better!!!! You are definitely right about being thankful it is Friday! It did NOT come fast enough this week!
Hang in there....
