So you actually got the REAL Santa to show up?

The Santa that comes here isn't exactly a Rent-a-Santa. He does it in return for donations to the American Cancer Society. He does the Polar Plunge every year and he also volunteers to be Santa at parties. But he only stays maybe 30-45 minutes. He'd probably stay longer; he's very flexible for times and hours, etc. Last year I gave him $100. which I thought was generous but wow, now that I read $450. I think I'll be upping my donation.
Can you find someone willing to be Santa, a friend of relative, and rent the costume?

I’m not kidding. During the season look for Santa for hire in the SF Bay Area.
The worst part of it was that I had 2 cancel on me the week of, they were going to get paid $375.
I used to have a grandfather of one of the dcks do it but unfortunately he’s been very ill.
Last year I had a friend do it and SHE was great. Kids didn’t say a word. Then again a lot of the kids are afraid of Santa.

Where can I sign up to be Santa?

What the heck? Dress up a fat man and call it good.

There is a Santa in our area who rents out 1 hour increments. $75/hr for time up until the week before Christmas, then doubles through the 23rd, then triple for the 24th and 25th.

If I was making $450 for 1.5 hours I could afford to work one month of the year! Maybe I'll start up a holiday work schedule. Easter bunny, leprechaun, Uncle Sam at fourth of July, tooth fairy... I could be a millionaire.

I own a costume, but my kids are getting older and they would recognize anyone I would use. My kids are 10,8,5 and I want to keep the magic alive as long as I can
I have quotes for about $150 if I book now. I just worry what if they don't show up
I don't do anything for the daycare with Santa... BUT fun fact: I actually live just a few minutes from Santa's house... in North Pole.
We see Santa out and about (grocery store and such) from time to time. When we first moved to the area and were looking at rentals, we actually ran into him at an apartment in the hallway. He could've been our neighbor! (They have two guys that work as Santa all year, neither actually live at the Santa House.)

Last year our santa was a sweet older man i met while walking my cat. Ran a background check and checked the open court records and made sure he was clean. He worked for $100 bucks and dinner. The kids loved him and he was really good natured when they begged him to read Pete the cat saves christmas instead
of the Night before Christmas.

My step dad looks like santa so he puts on a red shirt and green suspenders and comes as Santa on Santa's day off. <3
He reads them The Night Before Christmas, and hands out the mini stockings that the kids made and I stuffed with goodies.

That is SO cool!!! I found a santa that works for Macy's and is background checked. He's charging $140, but it's the suggested donated amount. I figured that and I willl feed him dinner
