Borrowing off of momofsix's post on the "Ten Things" thread...

What mantra do you use to get yourself through the day when you're having "one of those days"???

Mine is, "Kids need hugs the most when they deserve them the least".

I don't know if it's a mantra, but I always think these:

Everything happens for a reason.

They're teaching me patience while I teach them (self) discipline.

I hate it with a passion when someone else tells me this, but it runs through my head all the time, sigh.
***It could be worse.***

My mantra that I say to myself when I'm in a poopy mood is "It's never outside of myself". It helps me to not take my mood out on anyone else, even if I blame them for the mood I'm in My feelings, my responsibility.

I also use "Serenity NOW!" in my head when I'm super angry or moody or just getting my nerves worked by my daycare kids or my own kid. Somehow it helps.

"They are only this age for a day." (Usually referring to my own) It reminds me how quick they grow and that, while annoying, I will look back on these times and cry because I miss them.

"it pays the bills..."

o.k. ..... i'm only kidding, sort of

usually its "they're just kids" or "this too shall pass"

if anyone listens to country music, (dont flame me...lol) there's one by trace adkins called "you're gonna miss this". that song is usually running through my head on tough days......

When it's one of those days, I take a deep breath & pray for patience. It works really well for me.
