Just need to vent!
12:30 interview and of course I spent the morning prepping.
Is it so hard to call and say I can't make it! Geeze! And she was so nice on the phone

I know exactly how you feel. I just had a no show last night. I really can't stand inconsiderate people. I don't know why they can't just call and let us know that they aren't coming.

I do this, and I let the other in-home in the community (the one that is most similar to me) know their name as well. We have a pretty big blacklist at this point in time.

Don't blacklist her just yet. Especially consider a second chance if she's getting prepared to go back to work after a newborn. When I was a new mom I had very little memory from day to day, but I realized it and used my calendar. It is still my brain some days. Mommy-brain is a real thing! She could be a flake, or down right rude, but try to give her a second chance if you have the time and have the space to fill and no one on your waiting list.

They showed up 15 min late.
Not sure how I feel about that, but I really liked them so I will give them a shot.

I think I got that idea from someone on here.
I just joined a new provider fb group in my area. We are going to start a list of parents who either didn't show up for an interview or who walked away w/o paying.

I accept clients 15 minutes late BUT it doesn't extend the interview length time. They then only get 15 minutes instead of 30. Any later than 15 minutes and I won't answer the door. Often times, I will go and do something else (take a shower, go run errands, etc.) after 15 mins.

We do that and it is great. Sometimes we get different stories from parents and that's always oddly funny.
