I saw they had flying semi trucks near Dallas. Hope everyone is ok. I know we have a few here from Dallas.

I am in San Antonio. I, too, send all my prayers to everyone in that area.

I'm south of Fort Worth, so we missed the worst of it. All of my family in DFW are safe and accounted for, so we were very lucky.

I guess we were on the edge of some really ugly stuff because 2 of my moms were sent home early. One picked up her kids, but the other one got caught under a bridge because it was raining too hard to drive. In the meantime, our town's automated emergency warning system called and told us to take cover immediately. I got the baby up from her nap and we got into our "tornado closet" aka the bedroom closet. We spent about 5 minutes sitting there while dcg laughed at the new game. ;-) Mom got here a few minutes later. In the end, we got heavy rain and some minor thunder and nothing else.

Thank you for asking.

Yes! Thanks for checking on us! We only got about 10-15 minutes of hard rain and some thunder and lightning. We are about 45 minutes from where the tornadoes actually hit. I have no family there but some of my daycare parents do. I know that a couple of their family members have unfortunately lost their homes but they ARE alive and ok and that is a blessing.
My stepdad works in Dallas and we are so thankful that they didn't get any damage where he was at.

Yes! Sooooo worried about everyone there! How horrible! Tornados are the only things that absolutely terrify me....(well except spiders ) Definitely praying everyone is ok and doing well in that area!

Hope everyone is okay!

Tornadoes terrify me, although not as much now as they used to. There have been more tornadoes than usual striking urban/metro areas altely; it's making me take some extra precautions for the first time. We've had tornado warnings twice so far this year, and one of the warnings had the "bad" part of the storm cell pass much too close to home.

We all are okay! Nothing was going on in my area (30 mins away from north Dallas) but it was so hard raining and windy. My daughter had to stay in school until 4:00pm (normal release at 3:00). I freaked out more because my oldest daughter was in school in Dallas (closest to downtown Dallas). My daughter's teacher text'ed me to let me know that all of her teachers and her peers stayed in the basement for one and half hour (1:15pm to 2:45). It was so good to know she is safe. My husband freaked out when he found out what happened in Dallas and he called teacher to see if everyone are alright. I called my husband and he said everything will be alright. He went to check on my youngest daughter's school that he is going get her but no one in there so he saw many bus around on routines. Both of my daughters arrived home safely at the same time (4:30pm). I relieved to know my daughters are ok. One of my parents went to picked dcg up early.

Thank you for checking on us!

We're an hour outside of Fort Worth. There were tornado warnings for many counties, ours included.
The Preschoolers and I spent time singing in the closet. They thought it was fantastic.

LCLC, north or south? It's ok if you don't want to answer for privacy reasons. I'm just wishing there was someone in my area. ;-)

I'm North of Fort Worth (near Denton/Frisco)! It would be fantastic if we had a Texas "get together" one day!

I am also about 30-40 min North of Dallas. I agree that those providers in the North Texas area should have a "get together"!

It was downright scary for us; but everything was happening south of us near Dallas. My DH works in Dallas and his brand new car has some wicked hail damage. My brother in law works in Mesquite and he saw the Forney tornado and took pics. His car also has a really big dent from a HUGE softball size piece of hail. Fortunately for me, I only had one dck yesterday, and his mom works from home right down the street so she came and picked him up as soon as the tornado warning was issued! That allowed me to pick up my DD from school since it was almost time (I knew they would hold the buses until the tornado warning ceased, then she would be stuck there).

I heard two stories of women who took small children into the interior bathrooms to take cover; and when they came out the rest of the house was GONE. All except the interior bathroom they were in. One of those women was holding an 18 mo child in her arms and he began to be lifted up out of her arms. She held on to him by his ANKLES to keep him from being sucked up into the tornado. They emerged from the tornado unhurt. AMAZING the power of mother nature, and I am amazed at the miracle of God that not one person died in any of these tornadoes.

Doesn't anyone live south of the metroplex? Hmm, maybe that explains why I'm full--no one else does day care down here.

My sister works in Mesquite. They stood outside and watched one of the tornadoes pass by in the distance. It was a very scary day!!
