Hello ladies. I would like to know how do I go about having a daycare outside my home in NY. Is there grants or do I need a degree of some sort, I have a group daycare in my home and would like a building. Thank you all

You will need to see if it is legal.

BlackCat and I both have group homes separate from our own homes. She can do it legally without living there. In Utah, the licensee must LIVE in the home. If you don't live in the home you must be licensed as a center and that's another whole ball of wax.

We got around this by my son living in our day care home. It was a win/win for us all. He uses a few rooms as his own and the rest is day care. So he gets some rent free privacy and is technically the licensee even though I run the day care (and get all the money!).

As each state differs, you will have to see what's legal there.
